Chiltern application to run more London-Birmingham services

I think that makes the 08:26 TuWTh Gerrards Cross to Marylebone the only regularly scheduled loco-hauled service which Oyster cards are valid on, as it calls at West Ruislip at 08:36.

Looking at a list of loco-hauled services and RTT, that one's back to being a 165, at least for now.

Using contactless is still an option for services with calls at or south of Princes Risborough (or, separately, between Cardiff Central and Newport if wanting to use any loco service using PAYG).

It would be quite accurate to presume such.
They are the only schedules that should have 1st available in the data.
I don't believe they were originally bid / published as such and have been updated since first published.

This has been 68s for at least the past (Tue-Thu) week; I think it's just been in RTT as pathed as a 165 until the unit's known.

As there's been mentions of first class on Chiltern being reintroduced this December rather than already being available, are there currently any first class fares from West Ruislip to Marylebone, which neither Chiltern's own app nor BRfares show, or is it declassified?

The only First Class fares currently priced by Chiltern are between London Terminals and Kings Sutton/Banbury due to those tickets also being valid from Paddington.

No doubt more will appear in time for the increase in services, however.

That said it's vanishingly unlikely that specific First Class fares will be offered for journeys wholly within the London area, but I'm sure they wouldn't refuse £20 for an upgrade.

It's difficult to compare classes between operators.
They use then differently, treat them equally as different and both have widely differing uses.

Chilterns Class 165's are mainly used on the stopping services. GWR uses then nowerdays as a long distance regional train.

I went on the West Ruislip to Marylebone 68 with a Travelcard earlier today, but I can't answer my own question as I went to the front of the train and didn't move down when first class was at the other end (beyond saying that there weren't any on-board ticket checks in standard class). Most people at West Ruislip seemed to move to the front, which I suspect was more getting off quickly at Marylebone than avoiding first class.
