I'd say 10 just on the basis that T15 will have set everything back by a unit in the long termBrilliant, that’s now 11/33 accepted.

Railcam shows 810022 on the 1035 ex Sheffield.I'd say 10 just on the basis that T15 will have set everything back by a unit in the long term
I'm on the 10.35 from Sheffield. Absolutely heaving from Derby - previous train cancelled from Derby.810022 is pencilled in to debut today, and can be searched on RTT
Got a photo of you passing Wigston South Jn. yes I did notice when looking for 810022 on Railcam there looked like there was a train missing.I'm on the 10.35 from Sheffield. Absolutely heaving from Derby - previous train cancelled from Derby.
Yes 015 will be absent for a very long time, next unit to be delivered should be 020.I'd say 10 just on the basis that T15 will have set everything back by a unit in the long term

Is it confirmed it's had door modifications, that was only speculation on my part from observing the work underway at Merchant Park on the units.810022 (with modifications to improve door reliability) was in good form from a traction point of view on it's first day of operation in public service yesterday, accelerating in diesel mode northbound after Loughborough with run times between signals LR511 and NE4481 (min : sec) similar to other well performing sets:
30/06/26 810022 1D66 2:55 1F85 2:54
(on a check-out run last week on 3A26 on 25/06/26 2:53).
Contrasts with 810011 which was observed at Derby on Monday with the engine under vehicle 855011 silent and Loughborough acceleration times of 3:07 (1D66) and 3:06 (1F85).
With all engines providing traction the Class 810s are very noticeably around 9 sec slower accelerating northbound from Loughborough than well performing Meridians, and engine reliability still leaves a lot to be desired (study about to be published by the Railway Performance Society).
81016 back in service today. Worked Sheffield-St Pancras and 14.02 backAppears that 810016 failed tonight on 1D90 1605 St Pancras to Nottingham and was terminated at Leicester following an extended station stop at Kettering.
It was on the 13.35 Nottingham.81016 back in service today. Worked Sheffield-St Pancras and 14.02 back
The 810s have their number on the front? It was on the 13.35 Nottingham.
I copped it at West Hampstead Thameslink.
Not easy to get 810s in London as no number on the front. Difficult at St P and they go pretty quickly thro’ Kentish Town etc tho’ my eyesight not great.
Any tips?
Extremely small and only 3 digits, and can imagine very difficult at a fast speedThe 810s have their number on the front?
It’s in silver just below the cab window.
Yes, have seen a handful passing and they are difficult to read, they do also have a bit bigger of a number in the usual spot beneath the cab side window though, those are a bit easier to see.Extremely small and only 3 digits, and can imagine very difficult at a fast speed
do you use realtime trains ? mentioned on here almost weekly. try realtime trains.co.uk. put in a station name ie. West Hampstead thameslink. click submit. click the detailed box top right. you should see what is due for the next hour or so. Many train operating companies details are listed but not london overground. if there is a number of carriages listed on the right hand side of the page then click on that and then hopefully the train details will come up with the trains number on the page. Not always correct but a very useful tool to use. there is a small white box top right corner so if you are looking for a unit say 810022 enter number click and if the unit is working then it should tell you. there are differant versions of realtime trains i only use the free version so there are some adverts that do get in the way but if you get on with it then you could pay for extra services. give it a go many people on here use it so if you get stuck shout up and someone mostly TOM will post a very helpful comment to get you up and running. It was on the 13.35 Nottingham.

Ooh that’s good news all round, nice that the 810s are neirly done off the line, and good that Newton Aycliffe have a bunch of jobs coming in the near and far future, I believe they also will have something to to with the HS2 trains as well?Just been informed by a source from Hitachi that unit 810031 is now complete at Merchant Park, leaving just 032 and 033 to complete the production run.
There is also the test units and a couple of units with faults that need dealing with:-
001/003/004/005/007/008 and 009.
Also the elusive 810002.
I've also been told that Aycliffe will be taking on the crack repair work for the 8XX fleet and also the Scotrail 385s, so units should shortly start to return here for mods.
Should of stuck with the 125s, proven British reliability. If it's a train fault then it would go against the fleet and be one on the total for the period. They need to get more in service and get the mileage run up to build service experience and help identify one off issues from build/maintenance and those endemic to the design. Given the experience with the the 80x fleets you would expect Hitachi to get the reliability sorted.
Yes off topic Aycliffe will assemble the shells for HS2 before they go by road to Derby who will fit out the shells.Ooh that’s good news all round, nice that the 810s are neirly done off the line, and good that Newton Aycliffe have a bunch of jobs coming in the near and far future, I believe they also will have something to to with the HS2 trains as well?
However, there is also not so good news, 810022 failed just south of Clay Cross Jn earlier today on 1F50, blocking the MML north of Derby for a good half hour, before limping to Chesterfield, returning ECS to Derby and eventually after a bit returning to Etches.
Seen several (and pictures) and never noticed that. The 810s have their number on the front?
It’s in silver just below the cab window.
Discovered many times that will never happen.Wouldn't be surprised if Hitachi give EMR extra units as an apology. How late are they now?
Which sets are going back for crack repairs - not the freshly built 810s, surely?!Just been informed by a source from Hitachi that unit 810031 is now complete at Merchant Park, leaving just 032 and 033 to complete the production run.

LNER, GWR, TPE, Hull, Lumo and TPE.Which sets are going back for crack repairs - not the freshly built 810s, surely?!
016 working the Sheffield route again today. Very comfortable air con by 810 standards.81016 back in service today. Worked Sheffield-St Pancras and 14.02 back
Oops… that sounds a lot less comfortable. I was in coach C this morning. For balance, 810016 on the 1250 Nottingham to London had water dripping from the air con in coach B!
Ah; is this in addition to the work being undertaken at Eastleigh or have they lost the contract?LNER, GWR, TPE, Hull, Lumo and TPE.
Honestly not sure. Makes sense to move to Aycliffe saves leasing a building at Eastleigh.Ah; is this in addition to the work being undertaken at Eastleigh or have they lost the contract?
Not so much a contract lost at Eastleigh - Hitachi does the work in house and leases Bay 2 North & South and Bay 1 South from Arlington for it as part of Project Acer.Ah; is this in addition to the work being undertaken at Eastleigh or have they lost the contract?
Also saves a long drag and conducting clearance work for the 385s.Honestly not sure. Makes sense to move to Aycliffe saves leasing a building at Eastleigh.
