As Parks & Hamilton is looking at expanding in Aberdeen, will this pose as a risk to other external operators for the contracts such as MacLeans along with Simpsons Coaches for example as Parks already has a majority of the contracts around Glasgow?

I did wonder this myself. Although I imagine the winter "roadmto the isles" guide is probably out of stock now anyway.

After a recent trip to Inverness, the only piece of printed publicity I.could see....was from Ember!

Inverness has not had any paper timetables for a while. Shame Scotland gets lots of tourists but there is little publicity for any routes.

Ah that explains why they are still there, plus the West coast routes IE 914 and 915, on the citylink website show until the 5th of June, I was really hoping they would do similar to last years changes for the summer timetable, more to the point of having the later Skye run that i used for a day in Portree.

The late run from Skye to Glasgow that got you into Buchanan at 1 in the morning was a great run I used that loads, be good to have that back again.

that will come back as it’s a summer only thing.

it’s annoying though as i have a friend on Lewis who prefers to come over via Uig and they can’t get past Portree in the winter timetables.

The late run from Skye to Glasgow that got you into Buchanan at 1 in the morning was a great run I used that loads, be good to have that back again.

I wondered how busy that service would be. Arriving at 1am means no onward connections to local buses.

The 77 is 24/7, along with the 900 if travelling east. Ember as well to name a few, but there isn't many connections.

Despite timetables said to be all year, there are summer timetables for Aberdeen routes, minor in nature apart from the M9 having a morning service now stopping at Brechin to Aberdeen and an afternoon return .

well sorry to disappoint but it appears that has not made a comeback, obviously the economics for it did not stack up in one way or another, as good a run as it was!

Probably due to the return carrying pretty much fresh air and staffing of it wasn't easy as it was double manned from Glasgow with a start time of 0930am and a finish time of 0200am! It will now be a shell bus from FW at 6am to then operate north from Glasgow.

You also have Ember running right in front of it from FW to Glasgow.

The timetable hasn't changed for Ullapool but they do add extra services if they have been made aware of any changes to the Stornoway ferry service and today is one such days as the ferry is operating early.

That's only for WCM duties where the vehicle goes to Skye and it looks like it's been cut down to one such trip now, the rest will turn at Fort William. Sheil Buses duties will still change drivers at FW as they have a depot there.

Says if you don't book a seat you will be "allocated one on boarding" - does this mean manually by the driver ?

Also is the whole coach open for reservation ie Exit Seats et al and not just the first few rows like National Express ?

Tried a few dummy bookings. It looks like its the first few rows up and downstairs. On the 902, its the right hand side of the coach, first few rows.

AIR service is also reservable, they also say seat reservations suspended during busy periods for 900 and AIR.

I cannot personally see this lasting beyond the next few years, at least in practice.

Just going to cause more Conflict and drivers will get more Crap all to make a few extra bucks
