Have they taken the set somewhere to drop out the offending vehicles. Has anything been sent to take over the set from Crewe.
Have they sent to passengers north on LNER and or Scotrail to Inverness?

It’s only the mini 5 car set so potentially not so much of an issue. And Inverness has experience of HSTs, so if it makes it I’m sure they’ll be a few calls made.

It has to leave from the Far North platform anyway tomorrow as it's going to Kyle.
Of course, that's only useful until it gets to Kyle...

No. It can leave from 1,2,3 or 4. Head south. Then driver changes end behind signal India 397 to access Rose Street Curve,and onto the FNL
Though I have heard the Kyle trip has been cancelled

Down to 155 late at Dalwhinnie now. Customers will still have plenty of time for a few drinks in Inverness.
Might not be as easy as it sounds, depends on the 36 way connectors (that said the BP trailers and ScR PCs are both ex GW) unless LSL has an adaptor on board.

Do the Pullman Mk3s have the power doors modification, with the associated traction interlock, or are they still slam door?

The decision to cancel was taken around 16:00 yesterday after alternatives were considered and rejected.

Fair enough. It wasn't showing as cancelled earlier this morning (7ish) but was when I posted.
So spare day in Inverness I guess! Worse places to be trapped though obviously very disappointing for passengers, wonder how busy the 1059 Scotrail to Kyle is...
Hopefully LSL will be able to offer a bit of compensation (perhaps a credit for a future journey?) for this disappointment and missed catering (for those in Pullman!).

Busier than a normal Sunday but by no means rammed when it came through Strathcarron. Most folk probably baulked at the price of a day return giving them 5+ hours on a 158 with no catering (and not much in Kyle either).

There is a triangle at Inverness, within the station. Its just long enough for a loco, or an 08 and a carriage.Can it turn on a triangle at Inverness?

Unless things have changed, use of the triangle involves using part of the length of platform 5. A BLS tour on 25/08/1991 with a pair of 156s covered the triangle by splitting the train in two, so that half the participants could do the track while the other half viewed it doing so, and repeating the other way around.
Back before LSL put their short 2+5 set together, these Inverness/Kyle tours were done using the full length HST set. The tour to Kyle on the second day would depart from platform 1 and head just out of the station on the Highland Main Line. Then it would reverse and take Rose Street Curve past the depot to join the Kyle line. Returning from Kyle, it would do that again in reverse. Though Rose Street Curve, past the station, then reverse and back into platform 1.
47830 / 37521 / 12114 are currently working 5O47 Crewe HS to Eastleigh Arlington. Presumably both the Mk3 and 47 will be heading there for a repaint.

Might be a bit boring but I would like to see the 47 in BR Blue as I don’t think they have one after the 47593 repaint (I do like it in InterCity though).47830 / 37521 / 12114 are currently working 5O47 Crewe HS to Eastleigh Arlington.
