Could well be true because someone like Transdev are big enough to absorb these costs where as Lonsdale are too small to. Maybe Transdev have been asked by Lonsdale if they would like to step in on a temporary basis, only it seems a weird set of journeys for Transdev to take on and I very much doubt they're subsidised given Lonsdale already operate the rest commercially. I take it Transdev will run the 580 replacement journeys from Keighley using a part time driver, worked around a school conract?
Could be true, but ‘a driver told me’ isn’t always the most reliable source. Transdev aren’t doing the 580.

No evidence that Transdev are picking up the missing journeys on the 580. They'll be running the 75 as a stand-alone Saturday diagram with 10 miles of dead running to/from the depot, rather than Lonsdale Buses running it with 40 miles dead to/from their depot in Lancaster. When they were running extra journeys on the 580, that 40 miles was run in service, but if they can't justify the extra journeys in service during the week then they won't on a Saturday either. With Transdev running the Sunday service to Malham already, it makes sense for them to do the Saturday journeys too. And a 2-hourly service on the 580 (alongside a rail service) is adequate for the route, even if not as good as we might want, so absolutely no need for anyone else to step in, despite the demands of a few local Facebook groups.

Bus for the 75 doesn't run dead, it runs in service all the way from/to Lancaster. Not running the 75 will possibly now mean those journeys at the start/end of the day on service 581/580 may disappear on Saturdays.

Looks like Versas 279 & 280 have gone off lease now that all the 464 E200 MMCs are in service.

Looks like Versas 292 & 293 have also gone off lease now that all the new E200 MMCs are in service.

292 and 293 were withdrawn in March when the e200s were debuted.

Apologies, it could be somewhere far up thread, but could someone remind me why the flyer and 464 versa’s went off lease. I saw somewhere that the engine’s were different from the Blackburn and Burnley ones, but I’m not 100% sure.

Replaced by the 26 plate MMCs they had Merc engines the other Versas have Cummins engines, they also had reliability issues

278-293 had Mercedes engines (marine ones I believe) which had struggled for reliability.
The Flyer ones, started off at Keighley and had a high mileage due to the intensity of their operation.

Keighley service changes from 17 May:
From 17 May, we will be making some changes to some of our buses in and around Keighley to ensure we are running as reliably as possible for you.

On Aireline 60 & 60A and the K9, we’ll be changing the timetable to improve punctuality.

SHUTTLE will have an amended timetable to try to improve punctuality for you. Unfortunately, the Friday only trips at 11.25pm from Keighley and 00.20am from Bradford will no longer operate due to low customer numbers.

Finally, the Mon-Thurs afternoon trip on the 360 school bus will depart the school at 3.35pm.

Timetables will be available to download shortly.

I was just looking on Transdev's website, looking at the article about the new E200MMCs on the 464, when I saw that on the route tiles when you scroll down on the home page (picture linked), the X41 has lost its special Red Express branding. I know 1868 got painted into two tone Blackburn blue, but does this mean its another route to lose its branding like the Irwell Line?

Keighley service changes from 17 May:

It's a shame about the late 662, but not a surprise

I used to use it quite a lot, but I'm not finding anything worth visiting Bradford for, that late.

The last couple of times I've got it, there's been fewer than half a dozen people on it.

It would be good if Friday evening could go back to having a half hourly service, like Saturday.

www.transdevbus.co.uk/the-blackburn-bus-company/news/new-routes-in-blackburn-join-our-family-from-18-may/

We are delighted that bus routes 3, 10, 12A and 12C will join the Blackburn Bus Company from Monday 18th May following withdrawal by Blackburn Private Hire.

Thanks to funding from Lancashire Combined County Authority and Blackburn with Darwen Council, extra journeys will run on all services.

The 3 to Daisyfield, Little Harwood & Sunnybower
The 10 to Wensley Fold, Revidge, Bearwood and Lammack.
The 12A & 12C to Higher Croft, Blackamoor and Royal Blackburn Hospital
Your new improved bus services feature:

Extra trips - all three routes will have 'peak time' trips for those getting to work, school or college
Track your bus through the free Transdev Go app
Buses every hour Monday to Friday with 3 or 4 trips on Saturday.
Next stop audio and visual announcements helping you identify where to get off
Contactless bank card payments - for ticket purchase or 'tap on/tap off'
Single fares no more than £3, or great value period tickets if you travel regularly
£4 SWITCH ticket giving 60 minutes transfer to our other buses in Blackburn
"Anybus East Lancs" acceptance - if you need to change to another bus operator's service
Low emission engines
Your full timetable will be available soon, but in the meantime, your first and last buses will be:

All of these routes used to be operated by Blackburn Transport and Transdev at one time, . Highercrofts used to be the 4, Sunnybowers was the 14 and I think Revidges was the 9

Wonder where they will get more buses from to run these

Could they move Streetlites onto them then use the old 464 versa's to cover other routes in the short term?

The 464 Versas are going/have gone off lease so this would require some sort of renegotiation with the leasing company.

There were two B7RLEs that were also due to be withdrawn, as they have introduced more MMCs than the Versas they replaced. Maybe those buses will now not be withdrawn

In any case, they only need 2 buses for this routes, a company as big as Transdev Blazefield should be able to resource this but shuffling some buses around

I'm pretty sure they'll need more than 2 buses for the routes especially Mon-Fri as I'm sure Blackburn Bus Company have about 4 or is it 5 or maybe more allocated also aren't services going to run more frequently Mon-Fri but only a couple of times a day on Saturdays just like they do now?

The PVR is 2, the extra journeys are filling in the am and pm school gaps.

2 elderly B7RLEs should be suitable, as Blackburn Transport always used elderly stock on these routes like the Greenways, which was just 1970s Leyland Nationals rebuilt on an East Lancs Body, East Lancs Darts, Metroriders and Olympians, even when Transdev bought Blackburn Transport, these routes, always was the routes that had Olympians on it in between school duties

Any one know the reason Blackburn Private Hire are coming off theses routes as i thought they were commercially operated.

Certainly not a good time to be a small business. I suspect the impact of the Iran War and recent changes to government policies impacting small businesses will have been factors. Always a shame when a small, local operator is lost but now time for Transdev (and LCC/BWD) to develop the services and move forward.

Keighley service changes from 17 May:

Transdev timetables are available at that link. I think I'd assumed the Saturday 0020 from Bradford was going, but it hasn't, just the Friday one.

Not sure if it's a mistake, but the 60 timetable shows the 2340 from Leeds running Monday to Thursday as well as the current Friday and Saturday.

Tomorrow is the first day of the service to Settle if I remember correctly.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

On that note, didn't they run something to Settle from the Lancashire end at one point, route number 13?

From Clitheroe, possibly? If I remember correctly there was a time when Burnley ran the local (and beyond) Clitheroe services, long before the Ribble Country services.

Yes, the Summer Season for the 75 starts tomorrow which includes the service transferring from Lonsdale Buses to Transdev and the extension from Malham to Settle.

Sunday will see the return of the 820/821, with the 820 being extended past Pateley Bridge to Fountains Abbey & Ripon.
