Yeah, and has split to form 5Q65 as well at Kettering, due to form up together later too. Will that be a first on the main line?

I'm not sure on the logistics of it. Just going off what I'm told
In other news 810006 has had a few minor tweaks to improve reliability (in the cabs, galley and toilets), with the rest of the fleet presumably following suit

810015 completed a test run today, Etches to Etches circular via Wellingborough under 5Z01. Arrived back at Etches 9L, but that was after an extended wait at Wellingborough.

The 5th one isn't guaranteed yet. Today's is just to cover a 222
Must be 1 filling in for a 222.

Is there any difference in timings for a 810 diagram compared with a 222 diagram?

Not until GBRf give the green light, they’re still working on that though with 810003/4 out of Old Dalby. Doing St Pancras and back this week with the 10-car sets.
Gbrf just provide the drivers for the test trains, they do not provide the 'green light'.
It will be down to EMR and Hitachi to be satisfied that all relevant tests regarding 10 car operation are completed. And then for ORR to sign off and authorise 10 car operation.
013 was chucking out a fair bit of smoke from underneath the 2nd car this afternoon. It was heading to London at about 3pm. The smoke was coming out of a gap in the access panels towards the rear of the 2nd car (a few metres from the rear bogie). Was doing it the whole time it was sat at Leicester, I was on platform 2 and 013 was on platform 3. Looked like smoke from a dirty old diesel exhaust, just an observation on my part and looking at RTT the train arrived on time into STP.

Just thought I'd share an image of 810012 after my journey upon arrival at Notts last week, the train had deboarded and I was left with a vacant carriage, so I took a snap:
I know some people really don't like the 800 series, but I think that the 810 is definitely the best of the lot. I'd have preferred a bit of a splash of colour on the seats but I know the reasons why we haven't got that and even with it's grey-ness I still think these look smart.

I was on an 810 last week, I didn't get the unit number, but I found it quite funny to see what appeared to be gaffer tape already holding some paneling in the ceiling together next to the sliding door between the vestibule and saloon. Still I think these are quite good trains.

Looks to be running today on Realtime Trains.
Now I know that RTT is probably not 100% accurate but quite a few seem to be pathed as DMU on the STP section whilst some are EMU.

Warmer lighting and slightly less noisy AC and they'd be decent trains.

Ahh it was looking so well for the 810s, all the praise they were getting, not a failed unit recently, and now 810013 pulled from 1F50 under 5Z50 back to Etches
My understanding is that the lighting can be controlled by the driver / train manager between daylight and warmer so may just be on the day light setting - personally I prefer the more white light as can often find reading in warmer light more difficult, but I guess that's all personal preference.
The A/C is noisy, but then I've found it works better than the 222 so I'm happy to swap the noise for a more chilled cabin!
