Redbridge to Totton (Southbound) actually has two trains a day. Totton to Redbridge (Northbound) has zero trains. So this one is an oddity in that you can only travel directly in one direction.

That's an odd one as over the years there has often been an early morning Cardiff Bristol that has called at both, reversing at Parkway. Hasn't run recently, but I wouldn't be surprised if it reappeared at some point. At the moment it's only possible during engineering diversions.

I do not know if the line is still fully physically in place or if parts have been removed while works are ongoing but Corkickle to Whitehaven currently have no direct rail services (only a replacement bus) so this could count until the line reopens.

Agreed not neighbouring in the sense of regular passengers service. OP doesn’t specify, for the purposes of this thread, whether or not ’adjacent’ stations should be limited to those with timetabled through services.

I suppose it depends on how you define regular. If it means 'any timetabled services' then that counts, but if it means like a consistent hourly off-peak service then it doesn't.

More than 15 years after a previous run of this thread Pewsey still has this one with no services at all:

Pewsey -> Bruton

They are adjacent stations along the line travelled by trains that arent stopping between, say, Reading and Taunton, as both Westbury and Frome stations are not actually on the main line.

You could say that Salfords to Purley would count. There are no trains via the Quarry Line that call at both. It is perfectly possible for a train to call at both but there has never been any booked in recent times. I was going to say Earlswood to Purley but the crossover is before the station which makes that routing impossible.

Woodbridge to Westerfield is quite irregular (but multiple per day, more on Sundays). Diss/Wymondham (and beyond) to Brundall Gardens/Salhouse (and beyond). Possible via the Wensum Curve but isn't used for passenger services anymore. Are we counting freight as regular services?
