I had a look yesterday lunchtime from the other side I only noticed the signs at that end were Forsyths. The crane was not in use.Interestingly apt choice of name for the demolition company.

Meeting between bosses yesterday and they are hoping platforms 3-6 for reopening for tail-end of next week.
Because there's probably a reason why platforms 1 & 2 can't be opened yet - given, if my geography is correct, they are the platforms nearest the fire. (only been to Glasgow once so not familiar with the station layout).By that point, why not open all of it?

Maybe they need to check/replace some of those roof glass panels?Perhaps someone with the correct knowledge can precisley state why Platform 1 and 2 can't open. Most of the building has been demolished now.
I arrived on one of the first AWC trains to arrive after the reopening - not in P2, but P8. From P3 on any passenger can be made to walk west to the designated exit/entry point of the Vehicle Ramp. P1 & 2 don’t permit this and you get closer to the affected area. It’s fun going down the ramp and seeing the impressive Caledonian Railway logo, The numbers of staff on duty was x10 the usual.Platform 1 & 2 are still some distance from the fire so I doubt it’s a structural issue. Probably to do with controlling passenger numbers and flow/movement around the station.
The part of the concourse accessing these platforms is right next to the site of the fire. I assume the station wall is considered sound, as any collapse of that could bring down large parts of the roof. But as someone suggested above some of the glass panels may be in a dangerous condition which might prevent anyone using these platforms.Platform 1 & 2 are still some distance from the fire so I doubt it’s a structural issue. The part of the concourse isnt. Its the office buildings in the corner that are adjacent. Access to the platforms, and the platforms themselves should be fine. The part of the concourse accessing these platforms is right next to the site of the fire. P1 and 2 traffic can - and is regularly whenever there's a ScotRail train using the platforms as they want SR tickets to be checked by a gateline - be redirected to same gatelines as P3/4 by walking behind the buffers. From P3 on any passenger can be made to walk west to the designated exit/entry point of the Vehicle Ramp. There’s an iron fence circa 60’s to prevent this. Unless you plan to squeeze through the coffee stall. P1&2 has no gateline and there’s no way to get to P3/4 without going through the concourse.by walking behind the buffers.
Arrived a little Saturday morning at P11, scheduled to depart tonight from P11 also.Does anyone know if the Caledonian sleeper is running lately?

I assure you there is most definitely a wide walking path connecting 1/2 and 3/4 behind the buffers of 2 and 3. I, and everyone else on my train, use it every single time I get a ScotRail train from 1/2 since they put in barriers to block people walking straight in/out the Avanti way and make everyone go through the 3/4 gateline. There’s an iron fence circa 60’s to prevent this. So what do Avanti passengers do? If the route is now a recognised path, they can take down the P1&P2 sign directing people away from the P3P4 gateline From the concourse. Either way, they clearly don’t want passengers near the buffers until the emergency is over.to block people walking straight out the Avanti way
Thanks. Appreciate it.Arrived a little Saturday morning at P11, scheduled to depart tonight from P11 also.
Normal operation at platforms 1 and 2 outside whatever's happening with the fire is:So what do Avanti passengers do?
Meant to say it got in a little early on Saturday.Thanks. Appreciate it.
The bank of machines leading towards Plats 9 & 10 were all operational on Friday.Bit of a stupid question to ask are the ticket machines back in operation at the station? Planning on going to Largs but wasn’t sure if the machines are in operation or as backup use Glasgow Queen Street machines?

There's also a couple machines and a small ticket office downstairs in the Low Level concourse.Thank you for the information, I’m visiting Glasgow for the week and thought to go out that way for a change, I’m also aware of having to switch at Kilwinning (and back) but it’s good to know the machines are at least in operation
