Exeter's buses were once green.

They were twice green - as well as Exeter Corpy, Devon General in the early 1980s had NBC leaf green colours

old message but why would they get yutong for exeter if they have e400s for torquay? and 3 can't be much use!
I don’t know the exact reason but Stagecoach haven’t placed another for Enviro400EVs since the order that included the Torquay ones and seem to have moved mainly moved to Yutong for singles and doubles which has been further illustrated with the recent ScotZEB3 allocation with Stagecoach going for all Yutongs.

Any word on what Stagecoach will be buying in this latest round of funding (the 90 buses for Devon). I sincerely hope that Stagecoach isn't going all Yutong. After all, with the exception of the shortest models they are still as impracticly wide as the ones in Torbay. The only thing that can really replace our E200s is the new E200EV, which is finally available. It is still narrower than any rival (but not lower, so clearance work is still needed at Tan Lane).

A few changes in prospect for Stagecoach South West are due around mid-May.
First up is that the 35A & 35C (Torquay) will get revised timetables following the change of route introduced back in February while Service 22 (St. Marychurch - South Devon College) has a registration for revised timetables which are not only also for punctuality purposes but also the withdrawl of the late-night Saturday journeys. Service 54 (Plymouth - Bovisand) is also registered for the summer season along with the Sunday journeys on Service 31 which are also seasonal. Those are all effective 23rd / 24th May. There is also a 2-day registration for a P12 (Churston P&R - Brixham) for the Brixham Pirate Festival.
Another interesting note is the win by Stagecoach South West for the Ilfracombe - Minehead coastal route as Service 300: this is referred to elsewhere on the forum, namely at https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/first-south-west-kernow-buses-of-somerset.103639/page-741. My one thought on this is that given the nearest ScSW base is at Pottington (Barnstaple) I wonder how they will manage driver changes and perhaps also avoid empty vehicle workings between Ilfracombe and Barnstaple: I can only guess that some journeys may get tied in with trips on Services 21 & 21A.

Yes and also passenger disappointment when, instead of an open top ride, you enx up standing like sardines downstairs for an hour.
Sinhle deck on Ilfracombe bit is about right load wise, particularly with reduced frequency deterring use.
Basiclly the service is being slowly killed which is a real shame.

One OT operating the Minehead to Lynmouth section. Departures from Minehead expected to be at 09:30, 12:30, 15:30. A connecting 'midibus' operating Lynmouth to Ilfracombe, as per tender, also three return trips per day.
No clarity yet as to whether through fares will be available. Both vehicles operating from North Devon depot.

This sounds very similar to the service offered over much of at least the last 25 years.
Always subsidised with ENCTS passes not always accepted within Devon.
I would expect it to be treated as 2 separate, but connecting, routes.
Sometimes run as a through service, apart from the mid day journeys - need to return buses to depot of origin.
Sometimes with positioning journeys run in service from Taunton and/or Barnstaple. (Not when Filers ran it!)

I believe South East are only due to get 15306-15324. The remaining three will remain with Exeter for the Taunton P&R as far as I know. Could have changed but that was true last time I checked.

Incase it is of interest, I have attached a photo of 18186 (MX54 LPN) by the pond in Oakley near Basingstoke, Hampshire, having today passed its MOT and entering a new life in preservation. Basingstoke is where the bus was based at the time of its deroofing just a month shy of 10 years to the day ago, and was fairly recently picked up from Matford. The timetable for the 300 is now online. Transfer times in Lynmouth are 11-12 minutes (depending on direction of travel) and an end-to-end journey time of just over 2 hours 20 minutes. You'll get just over 3½ hours in either Minehead or Ilfracombe

I don't have a specific source it is just what I have heard. If they do get swapped it will be for Enviro400EVs from the 80294-312 batch
