If I have a ticket from A to E marked "via C", valid for A -> B -> C -> D -> E, am I allowed to break my journey at B, then resume it at D?
Yes, assuming no break of journey restrictions on a flexible ticketFor completeness, the ticket needs to permit break of journey, no? My reading is that by the strict terms of a ticket you can't have an advance from West Hampstead to Pitlochry (say) and decide instead that you'll fly from Luton to Edinburgh as part of it. Although just to contradict that agin for fun industry guidelines are that since you wouldn't be doing this to gain an advantage you should be permitted to anyway!
(Plus of course no one sensible would buy such a ticket)
