I'm on that. Going to be interesting at Shrub Hill in the morning. Only 8 minutes between the empty stock arriving and the scheduled departure, so it's going to be very tight for running the locos around through the yard. Unless they're top and tailed all day, but I can't imagine they will be.

Armathwaite Signal Box have said on Facebook it will be 47805 & 47810, but I've no idea if that is true or not. I'll wait until it turns up at the station in the morning to find out for sure.

It should be either those two and / or 47593. 57302 isn’t ready yet and 311 has had a touch up done to its Paintwork at Eastleigh and I don’t believe has left yet either.

Excellent day out. 500 miles of flawless running. Non stop run from Crewe to Appleby, plenty of fast running on WCML on way back. Ran on time for pretty much the entire 12 hour journey. Amusingly, we had originally been booked on the return journey to wait 20 mins at Rowley Regis Down Goods Loop to let 2V00 overtake. However, at the 11th hour, it was realised that the loop hasn't been in use for about 5 years, so we waited at Smethwick Junction instead. Evidently, the loop is still marked as available on whatever system Network Rail train planners use!

The loop must have been inspected by Network Rail recently or would have been refused if not track worthy. A bit of rust wouldn't have been a problem. Unless they realised at the eleventh hour it hadn't!.
Yes a pair of heritage green 47's looking the part. A well maintained pair of locos.

Do we think LSL will look to purchase any of GBRFs 47s that I believe are on sale? I can’t imagine there will be many more opportunities to purchase working, mainline registered & well maintained (I assume) 47’s because unless I’m mistaken these are some of the last not already in service with company’s such as LSL & WCR.

WCRC are having trouble keeping their 47 fleet going, so WCRC might be more interested.

Yeah maybe… I mean personally I would like to see them overhaul some of their existing… but they might have a big bill coming soon for some door locks.

47593 was leading when it travelled through Sheffield on the return journey to Nottingham

Amazingly, I never had a 50 failure on that route. Plenty on the GWML though, and 3 around Oxford/Banbury!
