Don’t panic too much. If you gave all the information they needed then I’m sure you did fine. I’ve had interviews for TOCS which were under an hour and I was successful, don’t stressnot sure really, felt ok till i left and realised it had only been 35 mins, and they said it would be an hour maybe more, so feel like i undersold myself now.
cheers m8, gonna second guess myself first time round for the job of a lifetimeDon’t panic too much. If you gave all the information they needed then I’m sure you did fine. I’ve had interviews for TOCS which were under an hour and I was successful, don’t stress![]()
If it helps the nerves any I had my DMI in November which was due to last the hour and I was out within 30 mins and was successful. I think Pringlepopper1 was right that if you gave all the info they were looking for then you should be fine. Fingers crossedcheers m8, gonna second guess myself first time round for the job of a lifetime

Any Polmadie candidates from the 2023 recruitment heard anything about courses starting this year?

I’m an Edinburgh candidate. I’ve not heard anything since the update email in the middle of January. Not heard one way or the other if all the courses this year are fullI'm a 2023 talent pool candidate too.
Latest via email this morning from AWC...
"All Polmadie offers for 2026 have now been made. I am awaiting confirmation of 2027 courses.
We'll be in touch with further comms later on in the year."
(From a pal driver at Polamdie).. Apparently 4 new starts in total. 2 direct entry qualified, 2 from the pool, but rumour has it recruitment were only supposed to start one from the pool!
So I'm looking at a 5 year overall process!
From the outset, AWC/OPC have been appalling. No Comms, no recruitment planning, piss poor.
I'm the same for Wolverhampton.I’m an Edinburgh candidate. I’ve not heard anything since the update email in the middle of January. Not heard one way or the other if all the courses this year are full
Too add to that I’ve also not seen anyone on this forum getting offered a course in May or June this year yet
yes it helps, and i passed so now i am in the talent pool, not a guaranteed job still but one step closer, fingers crossed. If it helps the nerves any I had my DMI in November which was due to last the hour and I was out within 30 mins and was successful. That's great news, congratulations. I know it's a long wait now until a course date but at least you know it's just a waiting game now.yes it helps, and i passed so now i am in the talent pool, not a guaranteed job still but one step closer, fingers crossed.
That is bad news to hear but I guess it's still just a matter of waiting and at least you know your in. It has been an incredible amount of time and haven't been through a process like it even when applying for competitive roles abroad with multiple stage testing and interviews it was far quicker at a speedy 2 yearsI'm a 2023 talent pool candidate too.

You only spend 16 weeks in either Polmadie or Crewe. The rest of the 18 months is made up of your 225 handling hours with a mentor/instructor then you get sent out route learning. Obviously depot dependent too, as 18 months is lower end of time but depots such as Euston is closer to 2 years due to more route learningMaybe someone on here can tell me different but 18 months from starting to becoming fully productive really hamstrings their capacity for courses.
I know that there's been unsuccessful negotiations to reduce it.
Flip side is that there's a lot of route knowledge with diversions, so pay it the attention it deserves....
No. Says offers not courses."All Polmadie offers for 2026 have now been made. I am awaiting confirmation of 2027 courses.
so there's still courses at Crewe then possibly

2027 suddenly seems very far awayNo. Says offers not courses.
Nope not had anything yet since being added to the pool either.Has anyone who passed their DMI (Polmadie Depo) in/after October/November 2025 heard anything further from the Talent Team since being advised they were successful and in the Talent Pool? Seems to be a few update emails being sent that I am definitely not getting.

Awesome how did u find it ?Hello all, it's been ages since I've been here and just seeing how people are getting along? I've applied in March 2023, started training in May 2024. Just to let you all know I've passed my train handling and core route. Any questions please ask , I will try to help you!
Thank you! It was a long process but it was fun! They will help you out with everything, the training course was quite intense, but when you start learning to drive, that's when you start the proper learning. Follow your mentor and everything will be alright, you don't need to study anything right now! Wish you the best!Awesome how did u find it ?
