It's a very good, detailed model. I'm not quite so convinced by the sounds yet but I've have a little tweak the bass and treble to make it sound a bit better.
I got the 44 last year, and was a bit unimpressed with the grilles (although they improved after I applied a wash and some powders) but they look much better on your 45. I'll post a pic of my split headcode version when it arrives.

It has been a while, but yes, I've just got another one. While I already have a 37 in EW&S livery, EWS has a subtle difference, so I have been patiently waiting. I present 37417:

My only haulage by 37417, was between Invermess and Kyle of Lochalsh, August 1988.

Never had it in that guise, but I had it when it was a proper 37 based at Landore......when it wasn't working out of Queen St 2 or 3 times a week! It was xot back then (or xof in my Platform 5 book from summer 1980!)
Fantastic hills right on the doorstep of Achnashellach station, and an amazing footpath to Torridon (Annat) that winds up and through them. I've parked opposite the station in the big layby loads of times, but I've never got on or off a train there!

I just got this gorgeous pair of Amtrak models - from totally different eras. One is the excellent Rapido SP 3/4 Dome Car, in the 1970s colors, and the other is a new Kato P42 diesel in the newest paint scheme, Phase VII. I think the color scheme on these P42s beats the look on the ALC-42 Chargers by some margin, and I actually like those engines!

A 'fun' Class 37 for me this week. Will probably get very annoying when the niece's visit!

Obviously it's only the ex Lima tooling so the running quality and detail is nowhere near modern standards. However was very impressed with the range of options and the quality when it came to the sound file. The cold start function, which allows you to have the engine turn on the starter for as long as you like, is especially good.
All in all, a very good value locomotive.

Aware it’s not the same pancake motor as the Lima version. “Based on the Lima tooling” may have been a better phrase to use. Still makes the point that it’s not of the same standard as more recent new tooled modelled (as it shouldn’t be given the cost)

More speculative bidding, and surprised no-one bid against me for this one - 34078, "222 Squadron" (in post '61 guise when it was a 72A loco - it might get reshedded to 73B at some point where she was allocated after her overhaul in 1959 until 1961).
Loco looks in great nick - will need a bit of pickup fettling to make the tender run more freely, but usual stuff.

Well my latest acquisition is a Bachmann Lucston station platform for a new Shelf layout of mine based on a West Yorkshire urban terminus in the 1990’s to use my DMU fleet. The track layout isn’t finalised yet, so any and all feedback is welcome.

Picked up Hornbys Saint 4-6-0 Lady of Legend discounted well aware of the issues with the model; fallplate catching on a brake handle column, firebox glow always present and potential for not straightening up coming out of a bend. Mine doesn't seem to have an isssue with the latter.
What has annoyed me is the instruction leaflet is woeful simply not describing the supplied model and its add ons correctly. The obvious error in the leaflet is reference to the firebox glow being controllable by a decoder (their HM7000 beings stated - its not there is no wring between the decoder socket and the firebox.
However the leaflet then goes on to show the model with the loco brake gear and draincocks fitted - they are not. Whilst at least from the images provided the loco brake gear is obvious on how it fits the draincocks are not. The end with a small curved piece on it goes at the valve gear end of the cylinder with that small curved piece I believe on the inside.
With regard to Lady of Legend the real replica loco has a builders build under the smokebox door. A plate is provided to be attached but their is no mention of it in the instructions and as their is no oval plate printed below the smokedoor door I suspect a fair number of owners may mistakenly fit it over the oval plate printed on the rear of the tender.

Went to ABRAIL today (spent nearly 6 hours there - lots to see, some very impressive layouts!). Resisted a few items, but did pick up a bargain book (Essery, LMS Wagons vol 1) for the princely sum of £2...

A few new bits have arrived for my new layout, including the station waiting shelter, a bachmann station modernisation pack to give a 90’s feel and some of the local stone.

Yeah, it’s for a relatively busy station. I’m going to customise it a little by ‘boarding up’ one of the windows like vandals have been at it. Possibly some minor graffiti too.

forgot to post it at the time but i bit the bullet and purchased the Hornby GNER liveried Intercity 225 bundle that came with 91124 'Rev W Awdry' (The bundle came with all coaches except for FO/PO Coach L which i bought separately off Rails) and LNER Beaver Tail Observation coach 1729 (I'm going to wait to see if Hornby release the second Coronation set with coaches 1721-1728 since those match the Beaver Tail)

A project that I've wanted to start for a while - so for my birthday, I asked for the first part(s).
I have a rake of 5 Replica 64' Mk1 non-corridors to assemble now (2xBS, 2xS, 1xC) - Replica are the only people who have made these (not even Comet have produced an etch), and parts are basically available to build yourself. I will need to source glazing (Shawplan).
The specific reason for this is set 904, which was an odd 7-set used on the London-Oxted line (working London Bridge - Tunbridge Wells West). It was an odd arrangement of 5 64' Mk1 non-corridors, with originally an ex LSWR comp lav, but then after '58, two Bullied CKs.

Well, there's not a huge amount of stripping down as such, but a fair amount of building up (parts, plus some handrails).
The bodies are painted, but I might need to strip down the roof welds to something more realistic. The interiors need painting up (wood grain and seat colouring). Compartment pictures/mirrors. People (!). I will try to add lighting as well so pickups on the bogies is a challenge. First and No-smoking transfers on the windows. Red butterflies. Numbers, 904 set number central on brake end... (Blood and Custard has a good section on sprucing these up!).
Weathering!
There's a lot to work on - a decent project! And the 7-set is, at scale, about 6 foot long in 4mm scale without the loco (which would have been something like a U1, Standard 4MT 4-6-0 or 4MT 2-6-4T, or a West Country - there's some good source material on how poor the timekeeping was on some of the evening services on that route as well!), so a hefty rake in model form, without strengthening with anything like an ex-SECR Hundred Seater(!).
The LNER rake will look great out and running at speed! And the Coronation Beaver Tail is a wonderful item (my Dad has one - the detail is excellent!).

What’s your method for making up handrails? I’ve got a couple on my class 20 where the handrail holders have snapped and I’m not really sure what to do with them?
I could try and glue them to the bodyside but it would seem like a bit of a bodge.

Bending some 0.5mm brass for the rails most likely - I did similar with a set of Hornby Mk1s I tarted up. I have a Swiss Army knife with small pliers which works well (jigs are available as well).
