Currently sat at Warrington on 1M08 (10:24 Warrington to Euston), due to a fire at Watford Junction.
Must be some fire to be held this far north.

It's in the old station at Primrose Hill that straddles the railway outside Euston.

It's been classed as 'substantial' on internal logs.

Trains will probably be stacked up all the way back, particularly (and this is good) if they're trying to hold them at platforms so people can get off and make other plans if they want - north of MKC there aren't many stations on the WCML.

I thought that was off to one side? Shame though, it was (was I guess) in quite good condition?

So did I tbh, I was copying Avanti's log.

Either way, lines all closed at the Fire Brigade's request to deal with it.

Looks like everything is stacked up as much as it reasonably can be - Crewe and Stafford aren't totally full but naturally you need platforms free for other services to continue operating.

Crewe even has a service in the rather isolated Platform 12!

Platform 12 is used by all Scotland services now at standard (sometimes swapped with the LNR Euston). Used far more than some

A little bit still close enough to the mainline to cause disruption, especially if the OHLE is all under one control.

Unfortunate name for the current tenant too given it’s a fire (Fierce Grace’s Hot Yoga).

Ahh yes, so just straddles the NLL. But likely needs attacking from the road bridge above the OHLE. Hopefully it's extinguished quickly.

Well I’ve bailed onto a Manchester train and will head to Leeds or XC to Reading.
Fortunately on a free pass and my Eurostar is tomorrow afternoon.

1Y22 has just gone past Camden CSD going into Euston. Looking at the diagrams a route has been set into P14 also. Several "BLOK" descriptions have also disappeared from just outside Euston.

And at 1136 1A12 passed Camden into Euston, so at least one of the main lines is open now.

I’m on the 11:36 from Marylebone and to say it’s cozy would be a gross understatement!

Sorry, thats partially my fault; I sent a good number of people that way from the Euston FC Lounge :D

Anyone know why the Mildmay and Suffragette (NLL/GOBLIN) overground services are suspended and Bakerloo line severely delayed? Trains stuck in the wrong place?

Manchester are sending people to EMR at Sheffield. No ticket acceptance in place if you look at National Rail. There are going to be a lot of complaints from EM passengers between today and Saturday/Sunday with engineering works on Kings Cross line.

Any thoughts on whether this is still likely to be affecting southbound services Lancaster Warrington later this afternoon?

At some point yes as there will be a hiatus in trains running back northwards to form the southbound services

Thanks - yes I can see that is likely to happen but the train I will be catching is currently already at Glasgow, my concern is more to do with whether it's likely we will get to Preston/Wigan and stop with all platforms at stations ahead of us full? This has happened before when there has been disruption south of Warrington.

Wow, that's bad. Closer to the WCML than I thought.

The old Primrose Hill station is basically adjacent to the WCML - see the aerial view. The Regents Park Road overbridge (now pedestrianised) crosses both the WCML and the ex-NLR lines.

The Lioness has reopened with severe delays but the Mildmay is still suspended.

Mildmay line (NLL) back now with "severe delays".

Gas main replacement happening just up the road (brand new yellow pipe visible in the holes in the road) so the cause may not be so simple to identify.

Fierce Grace Hot Yoga now shows as "Temporarily Closed" on Google Maps, that didn't take long!
I noticed. Whilst I feel for the business, everyone caught up in the disruption and the firefighters working on that but… what a name

And Yoga is supposed to be about Zen and Relaxation.

the BBC article says

The fire is close to the site of a former hot yoga studio. The cause of the blaze is not known.

so I wonder if it was already closed.

The article also says

Avanti West Coast services to London were reportedly held at stations as far north as Warrington.

I wonder if that's directly because of this thread!
