Agreed. Ealing's bus network is better than many cities'. But it is larger than many cities, to be fair.

The Greenford branch is a useful diversion / route for freight, especially with the OOC severing - probably keeping it viable, I agree that it doesn't really have a huge purpose today.

Converting to a Central line branch (either towards Ealing Broadway, or indeed, facing and running up to West Ruislip as a feeder for West Ealing CR) - doesn't really seem worth the squeeze.

All you would need is a few vinyls on the trains, a few sign changes on the stations and be shown on maps, all for tuppence ha'penny. There's no need to bust a gut over the Greenford Line. Or just leave it alone.

Maybe leaving it alone is best. The 230s seem to be doing well. I think they are a worthwhile investment for the line!

I travelled on the 230 a couple of Saturdays back. The passenger experience is worse than in the DMU currently used for this service. The 230 acceleration is far more feeble, the seats provide less leg room and announcements via the public address system are muffled. I was very pleased however that lavatories usable by disabled people have been installed.
