5 pairs, whoops!Five pairs. Two of them covering 701 diagrams
11 of 13 out today5716 coming out as well. 1707 Waterloo to Waterloo then 1843 to Shepperton via Richmond, returns via Wimbledon.
If the general belief that 5710 and 5737 have been stood down and were meant to go for scrap today is to be believed then that's 11 out 11!11 of 13 out todayWow! What a gorgeous penultimate day!

Thanks for this, I've updated the main post.5716 coming out as well. 1707 Waterloo to Waterloo then 1843 to Shepperton via Richmond, returns via Wimbledon.
2M64 was interesting. A Chessingtonian tagged poor old '5716 at South and ran off up the line, so the driver drove really slowly to avoid hitting him, then we ran non-stop after Motspur Park on the fasts!
2J69 spotted at Surbiton – it turned up an Aventra.
First time since 1983?No 455s out today, End of an era.
There was a Sunday a few weeks ago when none were out due to engineering works , But this is probably the first Regular service day with none out since 1983.First time since 1983?
Nope , Chiltern turbos display route numbers.I believe they are the last trains that display two digit route numbers.
Are you speculating, or do you know something we don’t?Keep an eye out in January. Suspect we’ve not seen the very last of them just yet.
I hope not...I'd love another go.Keep an eye out in January. Suspect we’ve not seen the very last of them just yet.
I was on that, clocked it at 74mph through Earlsfield! Thanks for letting me know what happened. I planned to get it at Motspur Park but the non-stop run meant I wouldn’t be able to get 2G63 to Guildford via Cobham.

None today, but keep an eye out during the week. Next Sunday may see another 455 related Shuttle service as it's probably preferable to use up mileage on a rust bucket. The Sunday Chessington shuttle being 455 was a good idea! Are there any 455s out today? Can’t for the life of me find any on RTT! Regards![]()
Why are the trains only going as far as Wimbledon today?HNY! - solo 458 530 is working the Chessington South ‘shuttles‘ today
Wouldn't be surprised if it was as much lack of available stock. The use of Wimbledon Park for turnback might have ruled out 701s, 458/5s used elsewhere, 458/4s aren't cleared leaving only 450s and 455s.None today, but keep an eye out during the week. Next Sunday may see another 455 related Shuttle service as it's probably preferable to use up mileage on a rust bucket. The Sunday Chessington shuttle being 455 was a good idea!
The fasts between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon are closed again today, back open tomorrow and this weekend. Why are the trains only going as far as Wimbledon today?
Maximum 8 cars for turnback moves. Anything longer has to go further in to the depot which only Wimbledon drivers sign I believe. The use of Wimbledon Park for turnback might have ruled out 701s
