Latest news from the EMR class 810 front line “Our trains are falling apart!” Having failed with door faults on two occasions, I'm told by EMR sources that all doors have now broken and it is to return to Newton Aycliffe.
If true, what on earth have Hitachi been doing during the test process.Chime Whistle publishing suggesting that at least one unit has to go back to Newton Aycliffe to repair faulty doors! Maybe 810006?
Any chance of a more realible source than that account?Chime Whistle publishing suggesting that at least one unit has to go back to Newton Aycliffe to repair faulty doors! Maybe 810006?
Thanks.Engine shut down cycle whether manual or automatic, incorporates a ~4min cool down cycle before final shutdown.
In an emergency the engines can be shut down immediately.
To be honest, everything posted so far about the 810's on that account since the date of the planned soft launch appears to have been relatively true. Time will tell how accurate this latest claim is.Any chance of a more realible source than that account?
As anything he says must be taken with an extra large pinch of salt due to all the lies he has told over the years. Believing him is like trying to use the daily mail as a source for Wikipedia.

Yes, chaos in Sheffield this evening (Wed) I was there. FOUR consecutive London trains cancelled, the 1700, 1732, 1800 and 1835, some were started at Derby though.222004 is ironically the train causing issues at the minute, being stuck at Market Harborough with a door that has become detached.
Messy day on the MML today (having been caught up in it this afternoon):Yes, chaos in Sheffield this evening (Wed) I was there. FOUR consecutive London trains cancelled, the 1700, 1732, 1800 and 1835, some were started at Derby though.
Nothing to do with the 810s then?
Luckily I managed to get on a very busy XC service from Sheffield to Derby. I never heard any advice for London passengers being announced though!Messy day on the MML today (having been caught up in it this afternoon):
PHBT Attenborough.
Door fault 222004 Market Harborough as above.
Points / signalling issue in running wrong line around the stranded unit, issue sorted allowing southbounds from Leicester from around 1545. Presume you got the knock on effects of all that. Only one 810 out today?

I saw one doing a training run in London earlierno 810's out today
That'll be why Barton La was suddenly closed off in the time it took me to go in and out of M&S Chilwell.PHBT Attenborough.
810006 and 810012 are out today.I know it’s a bit too early to report from rtt as indicating 810006 & 010 is booked out today.
012 has just failed at Leicester so now only 006 is out810006 and 810012 are out today.
Nothing showing now for 010.
Don't say it's the doors?012 has just failed at Leicester so now only 006 is out
Don't think so, it left the depot late with engine issuesDon't say it's the doors?
Pantograph / ADD or related issues. Looks like a 222 has taken over the diagram but that the the 222 will be swapped off at Derby for the 810 again?Don't think so, it left the depot late with engine issues
Which app / website is that?Pantograph / ADD or related issues. Looks like a 222 has taken over the diagram but that the the 222 will be swapped off at Derby for the 810 again?
Opps, forgot to explain that.ADD stands for Automatic Dropping Device, in case anyone else was wondering.

Odd to have an ADD activation whist not on the OHLE, most likely a gremlin.Pantograph / ADD or related issues. Looks like a 222 has taken over the diagram but that the the 222 will be swapped off at Derby for the 810 again?
Wasn't it posted up thread that there was an engine issue?Odd to have an ADD activation whist not on the OHLE, most likely a gremlin.
Why could it not continue on diesel only mode.
That seems to be the issue, all northbound trains at Leicester currently showing "delayed" and looks like all trains are approaching Wellingborough with no further updates.Seems to be a trespass incident in the Kettering area disrupting services.
The most likely scenario is for the 810 diagram to be turned around short of its destination to get it back on time If it's been delayed heavily. That seems to be the issue, all northbound trains at Leicester currently showing "delayed" and looks like all trains are approaching Wellingborough with no further updates.
Hope it's not too bad.

Okay, seems to be moving again, let's hope they don't cancel the 810.
Fingers crossed they turn it around at Derby and not Leicester! The most likely scenario is for the 810 diagram to be turned around short of its destination to get it back on time If it's been delayed heavily.
