Gemini 3 makes 'em even lower! I've attached its second howler, in post 539. Complete with midair wall...
That is brilliant.

I assumed it was a brick response to the footbridge at the south end of Sheffield station. It can be seen in the following image (the grey one is bad enough, but I am referring to the one painted in cream and red)

Platform_2A_Sheffield_Station.jpg

ALT TEXT: Image of Sheffield station facing south. There is a solid-walled bridge in the background.

Crumbs, last time I stood at Sheffield, it still saw class 110 Calder Valley units and class 111 Met-Camm's Rolls Royce engined units.

The third "howler" - still with my same descriptive input as the previous two results - well, it gets the platform's height correct; but...

I asked ChatGPT
Could you come up with some designs for these neo-steam-age trains, including the victorian style but disability/safety compliant stock?
Its results were ... interesting

Google recently released its latest AI "engine" - Nano Banana Pro. Finally, an image-generator which renders British outline locomotives realistocally.
I will go as far as to say the level of realism now is 'mad'; the attached BR-era examples demonstrate what it can do.

When is a pair of Grids not a pair of Grids:
Gemini Nano Banana Pro did a fairly good job with the rolling stock on the left (other than a very un-Speedlink livery van). It did a passable 56004 (Crewe cab + Romanian grille mesh).
And then it didn't do so well...
56098 behind sprouted class 47 Serck radiator slats; and the Railfreight livery has a closer resemblence to a "grey Network Southeast". And those Mk2fs are... not!

To be fair, the grey NSE is probably what people in NSE land think trains are like in the North. I mean, everything is grey "oop north"?

A single class 20 in Inter city livery on an interesting mixed traffic service e of coal and passengers

Then later the same class 20 with a classmate

My attempt at D400 + 50007 with a rake of InterCity aircons? Gemini's clearly a Duff fan - I attach the evidence, M'Lud
Mind you, the leading loco (class 50 front on 47 body) is quite a looker)

I reckon Crewe Works found a few pots of APT-P grey and decided on a NSE variation.
To be fair, it would have looked better than "shouty-red" on seats, platform lighting and goodness knows what else. :D

I can't decide which I prefer:
The wonderful pair of IC Choppers (oh, to have had those on my Skeggy 20s haulage!) - or...
That marvellous semaphore-plus-colour-light signal bracket.

Someone needs to report that broken crossing gate to Network Rail :)

Aside from a giant driver, that looks to be a very realistic picture to me?

After post 546's "Not a 56", I managed two believable pairs of Grids - linked here:

Class 50 front and class 47 body is disconcerting to the point of loosing grip with reality!

I managed far more convincing Hoovers on this linked post. The bodyside windows aren't 100% right and the large logo should be at No1 end; but they all look the part.

I've started a month's free subscription to Google's Gemini 3 Pro. It transpires their AI image generator, Nano Banana Pro, is capped usage even on the pay-per-month service.
I'll cancel it. I'm not forking out £216 per year for something I still can't use in the way I want to...

I couldn’t resist posting this from YouTube. It’s a musical mickey take on class 47s with an hilarious AI video.
'There are too many of your bland blue brothers on the rails...'
Brilliant. It's a catchy song too, well performed.

Whilst creating AI homage to the Weymouth Quay line, linked below, Gemini produced a curious one - seems it wasn't just the cars that were left haphazardly-parked...

Presumably the lady in the red bikini and straw hat is the owner of the badly-parked Ford Capri! Interesting to see a 33/0 on the boat train. I thought that only the 33/1 subclass were fitted with the electric socket for the bell and flashing light unit? ;)

I scened it in late '60s to early '70s, to have an excuse for no H&S bell or flashing light. There's only so much I can expect of Gemini's data sources. :D
Most of the 33s were rendered with high-intensity headlights. It took a fair few goes, to get one without (the linked thtead)

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Whilst writing my descriptions, for the north WCML images I linked below, Gemini gave me a variant APT that reminds me of the stillborn early 1980s APT-S concept.

At least both lines were wired for the APT ;)

There is some concern that a ghost station has entered the picture; the central locking lights are on down the side of the APT. The 86 isnt stopping though.

Constantly getting videos of plane crashes (obviously AI) all over my Facebook feed. Getting concerning now to see so many people obviously interested in creating such disturbing content

With the likes of Twitter giving people money for making posts with high interaction counts, there's an entire industry of people at home making a living from generating fake content in order to get clicks. Plane crashes are a news story that is going to get people clicking, so it's an obvious go to. The people making these posts aren't doing it because they like making pictures of plane crashes, they're doing it because people are more likely to click on a picture of a plane crash then they are a flower or some puppies.

Compare the 'bridge collapse' generated nonsense (see https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/delays-due-to-fake-image-of-bridge-damage.295755/)

Imagine if the prototype DELTIC livery had been perpetuated onto the production locomotives...
Here are gleaming pair, PINZA and NIMBUS, stretching their seventy-two cylinders over the Settle & Carlisle route.

Slightly more realistic EE Type 4s and Stanier 8P pacific here:
