Yes, a Mk1 Polo.
A Mk1 Polo, with the registration worth considerably more than the car!
Many years ago I owned a 1-digit plus 3-letter plate on a rather rusty mk1 Cortina. I eventually sold the plate for four times as much as the car.Generally, I dislike the personal number plate brigade. However…
A very short registration on an old wreck is, in my view, the epitome of class. If I win the lottery, I’m going to buy a two or three character registration plate, and a beige Austin Maestro (1.3 City X) to wear it.
Nice one, congratulations!I saw an F-reg Vauxhall Carlton (remember those?).
It was on Facebook marketplace, and is now on my driveway..![]()
Well done for "saving" it.I saw an F-reg Vauxhall Carlton (remember those?).

Back in the early 1990s, I toyed with buying a Senator CD (I had a 1986 Rover SD1 at the time). Sadly it didn't materialise, as my Rover's cam belt snapped 3 months after being put on (thank you Unipart quality control...), so funds were diverted to that instead.
My brother toyed with getting a Senator 3.0 as his first car, as there was a garage in Clayton West near our gran's that had a load of ex West Yorkshire Police examples in stock... Unfortunately the insurance would have been astronomical!I bought a 1988 Senator 3.0CDi in 1991 (E400GPD), it was a main dealers top range courtesy car with 75k on the clock being sold by a specialist small dealer, being a bit concerned about the high mileage I rang another main dealer who said "it's not even run in yet" It was a superb car in every way bar fuel consumption and tyre and exhaust replacement prices, the need for a total replacement exhaust being the reason I part exchanged it
Perfect! An 'S' reg 77/78 Allegro in BL brown.
Perfect!
Spotted a V reg Rover 200 earlier today, used to be very common around here but pretty rare now.
Yesterday we received a letter from the DVLA confirming the UK numbers as of 12th May 2024. The number of vehicles with a chassis prefix / VIN:- FK10 followed by 6 numbers was 4,671. This comprises 2,431 vehicles currently recorded as licensed (taxed), and 2,240 vehicles with a Statuary Off Road Notification (SORN) in force.
There was a Nissan Figaro in my local Waitrose car park this morning. I see Figaros reasonably frequently, but since there were only four colour schemes available I'm unsure how many different ones those are. Most look very tidy for their 34 years (all built in 1991).
DVLA figures for 2024 show 2431 licensed and 2240 stored off road, which is quite a decent proportion of the 20073 originally built (for Japan only).

Could you please explain what a "Horti" is?then given a Horti which I gather is still the standard procedure for such circumstances.

Coincidentally, a red 1986/D BMW e30 320i is at a house five minutes' dog-walk from me. Nornal white/yellow plates.D Reg BMW 320i, in original condition except it had black reg plates with silver letters (which definitely weren’t sllowed form new in 1986/7!)
