Funny how the RHTT finishes, and hey presto you have these issues! 57301 had a very nasty slide causing a severe wheelflat and the loco and stock ending up out of service at Laira. Ironically the passengers ended upon the above HST which itself then failed with flats!

Likely yes if it’s an Angel Power Car and Stock, unless First Group fancies paying the hand back fines.

Reported in today's Telegraph (of all places) that GWR are organising a 'line up' of three HSTs for photography at Plymouth station on Saturday evening from 19:17 to 19:37. Not sure what the definition of 'line up' will be, or whether it will just be three sets in the station...

The last Great Western Railway Castle Class HSTs will retire with a flourish. Three of the last trains will line up at Plymouth Station between 7.17pm and 7.37pm for fans to take pictures.

I did my farewell runs over the course of a couple of rover visits in October and November and quite happy I did it then when things were a little calmer (from an enthusiast point of view). I had thought of doing a visit this week (maybe sleeper across, a day on the HSTs and then head home that day) but my rest day this week was taken up by other things so that will be it for me. Scotland will become the centre of my universe for (hopefully) the next few years now

For passenger service in England, yes. Not in Scotland, or in other countries for that matter, and only in passenger service.
