Is the line still shut west of Truro?
Not tomorrow, but yes on Sunday

Following notice is on travel updates on GWR website
Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Penzance and Truro:
Impact:
Train services running to and from these stations have been cancelled. Disruption is expected until 09:00 06/12.
Customer Advice:
Owing to a combination of train crew issues and the shortage of available carriages it is regretted that the first few services from Penzance will not operate this morning.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

The first train to leave to Penzance this morning was a Castle on the 0740.

Was thinking about a trip to the SW for one last HST run today, glad I didn't as the diagram I'd have aimed for (1127 from Exeter, 1515 from Penzance) has been swapped for a 150, and cancelled from Exeter anyway.
GWR JourneyCheck is saying this is due to a fault on the train.

Anyone heading out this week might be worth keeping an eye out, just in case they decide it's not worth fixing the issue for a few days left of service and there are more substitutions.

So the 2 unadvertised services are fully booked I assume, definitely can’t find them anywhere on the usual sites. Definitely no other way to get tickets for it?

Just buy an ordinary off-peak single/return/ranger/rover from a TVM or ticket office, or tap in with a Smartcard. There are no reservations, in fact I don't think it was ever even added to online booking sites. Trains in the UK can't sell out even when online sales are stopped

Ah yes, I was planning to get a Cornwall day ranger anyway but it’s good to know that you don’t actually have to book the non stop runs.

Line has again been affected by flooding this morning, so anyone hoping to get an HST to Penzance would be advised to check latest status
