Is there some kind of farewell for them or something? I saw these for the 13th but it’s down as unadvertised so is it probably a press thing?

None will run at all on the Gwr network from the 14th. So the 13th is the last day
I'm glad I asked this question now! My son had been planning a trip on one in the New Year, I guess we'll have to try and do it sooner. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Does anyone know if this stock runs at the weekend? We're going to try and get down to Exeter this Saturday to catch the train to Penzance before they finish for good on the 13th. I've called GWR but they can't tell me. Thanks in advance.

Yes but it leaves Exeter St Davids at 0800 on a Saturday.

Does anyone know what this is, someone suggested it’s a staff special?

As I'm not an experience rail buff, and still trying to figure out how to use RealTimeTrains website, I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me figure out how to decode all of this so I can guarantee to be on a HST from Plymouth to Penzance on Saturday.
We're coming from London, just to do this for my son who is the train fan, but it's a surprise for him, so I can't ask him to look at the website! Thanks in advance.

Seems the 17.32 from Penzance is fully booked. Not listed on GWR site.

If you click the link to the service, you'll see
Pathed as Castle Class HST
Planned for 110mph max
Written in the left hand panel. If you click on Penzance or Plymouth stattions, it shows workings, with the number of carriages in the right hand column - most GW workings from Plymouth or Penzance are castles, clicking on the service will bring it up and you'll see if its pathed as one or not. In any case, the two links above are the last workings but there are two just ahead of them here, which are normal schedules:

No, its primarily for enthusiasts, they're expecting plenty! Return below, the actual final working
Just had a look on TrainSplit and it doesn’t look like it exists on journey planners. How do I book it?

Thanks so much for this. I appreciate it. We're planning to travel down this Sat, the 6th. Wish me luck!

I haven’t found anything about that on google. Maybe it’s sold out?
Sorry MerlinRail I was in two conversations and missed your point - the extra services are Saturday 13th only, not the 6th. You want any of these:
There may be more but these are booked as Castles. Be aware the line is shut between Truro and Penzance this week, should be open Saturday.

Looks like these two are also booked as HSTs

Yes missed those! Plenty to choose from. If you get a pre booked ticket to Plymouth at a good price, you can buy a Cornwall ranger and enjoy them all day long for £17 each! Valid from Plymouth
