Don't forget Chester eld
Yes. I'm sure they've done route clearance for all the routes the 222s currently cover, they're supposed to take over all the routes. Of course some of the date limited routes are always more likely to change or in some cases get removed regardless of the switch from 222s to 810s, and I think it's unlikely for example that the race day special 222 services to Utoxeter are covered by the franchise requirements; also there were no summer special 222 services to Skegness this year so who knows if they will be reinstated. But they're certainly intended to replace the daily 222 services to Lincoln and Melton.EMR have issued a new map from 14 December
In addition to St Pancras - Nottingham / Sheffield as their intercity services, they also have limited intercity services Corby - Melton Mowbray and Nottingham - Lincoln.
Does that mean 810s will in due course operate these limited intercity routes too ?
Yes, because given the total withdrawal of 222 by EMR, the current 1 train per day each way would either have to be withdrawn or operated with something very unusual that would cause uproar on the Speculative ForumEMR have issued a new map from 14 December

As an aside (and perhaps because of 810-related changes), today seems to be the last day that RTT shows the 1835 as being to "Nottingham and Melton Mowbray". From tomorrow it's shown as Nottingham only and you have to click into the detail to see that it divides at Kettering. It did initially confuse me and for a second I wondered if these services were being canned, and if so, how I had missed this.

One or two 810s have been to Crewe so there could be a chance that the Uttoxeter specials will continue.Yes. "I've received a DM from a source at EMR saying they suspect the 810s won't enter service until the December timetable change. Things are being managed on a day-by-day basis, so the situation could change at short notice."
Yep, one would hope so! Failing that, my infamous concept of the loco-hauled 360s might have to come into playOne or two 810s have been to Crewe so there could be a chance that the Uttoxeter specials will continue.
No surprise tbh - and it’s been so long that a couple of extra weeks doesn’t really matter!Chime Whistle: Likely 810s will not enter service until the timetable change, but situation could change at short notice...

What an odd route map. As well as the spelling mistakes, it does seem odd to remove so many intermediate stations. Especially with the map not even short on space.Mansfeld? Are we in Germany now?![]()
The testing process ought to deliberately try and confuse them, e.g. blocking the closing door with a hand or foot. And they might have, but if they have been waiting for 'please lock the door' message to finish before locking the door, then the problem wouldn't be discovered.
They may just test the door locks and closes, and the toilet flushes.
After how many years of the IET/Azuma fleet being in service and this problem has never to my knowledge occurred, why would they recorate the scenarios causing them issues now.
As I said you can not possibly test for everything that 'could' go wrong. The testing process ought to deliberately try and confuse them, e.g. blocking the closing door with a hand or foot.
Those services already run using 222s, even if just Lincoln sees two early morning departures towards St Pancras and nothing going back the opposite way. Although if they survive post changeover to 810s who knows (unless there is massive demand for the 06:09 & 06:40 slow trains to London)EMR have issued a new map from 14 December

Looks like it is being pushed back by another 2 weeks until the timetable change.Other social media reporting that no 810 in traffic tomorrow.
I was going to try to fit it in with a short break in Whitby/Leeds next week but will try again in Blackpool/Berwick next month. I’m not counting my chickens for January just yet though.Looks like it is being pushed back by another 2 weeks. The waiting game continues.
Spotted class 810 at Kettering sidings this morning. Couldn’t quite catch the unit number but I guess it’s just another test run towards London St Pancras
It's a useful capacity boost on the route, as the trains would otherwise be sat on Etches doing naff all. They're certainly well loaded into Nottingham. Those services already run using 222s, even if just Lincoln sees two early morning departures towards St Pancras and nothing going back the opposite way. 009 was in Cricklewood south sidings last night at 1800 and gone by 2200.Probably the one below - if so, it's 810009:

004 is still at Aycliffe to the best of my knowledgeThere is an Old Dalby-Leicester-Sheffield and return test working running from Old Dalby this morning. Is it known whether 810004 is back from Newton Aycliffe and this is another paired working of 03 and 04 together, or just 03 on its own?
On the return run to Derby left Kentish Town 21 mins. late 3 mins early at Bedford.!Probably the one below - if so, it's 810009:

But the timings included about 25 mins of allowances overall! On the return run to Derby left Kentish Town 21 mins. late 3 mins early at Bedford.!![]()
I'd be surprised if any appear before the December timetable change ina couple of weeks.Looks like 1C17 will be an 810 tomorrow. Although don't shoot the messenger for any last minute changes!
Why? If crew available and a working train then EMR will do a soft launch into service.I'd be surprised if any appear before the December timetable change ina couple of weeks.

Probably depends upon whether the issue in the toilets has been sorted. Don't lock the door before the system tells you "please lock the door".Traincrew diagrams have been in place for the past week to allow for 810s to run in service so they are very nearly there, it's just a case of making sure the units are 100% ready which they may well be now. We'll see in the morning
