Saturday diagram (running as 222 29/11/25)

1B25 0850 NOT - STP 1027
1D31 1105 STP - NOT 1251
1B52 1312 NOT - STP 1454
1D53 1535 STP - NOT 1709
1B79 1750 NOT - STP 1927
1D76 2005 STP - NOT 2148

As a note that for the next couple of weeks the booked 810 services are easily identifiable on realtimetrains by viewing all EMR departures from St Pancras and seeing the journeys that have variations to the working timetable, you'll see that they're pathed as a Class 810. This however doesn't guarantee that it will be 810 operated as proven this week

Don't worry I, and I'm sure lots of others who contributed to, appreciated the humour! ;) :D
Very nice to have some support and reassurance for a change, so sincere thanks for your kindness and appreciation; but I do recognise that it’s time to move on now :)

Thanks for the tip-off. Will take things on a day-to-day basis!

Was this anything 810 related, a 5Q66 Northallerton to Derby Etches Park this morning? Looks like it spent some of the night shuffling between Doncaster and various points on the ECML before heading to Derby. Esit: Originated at Merchant Park the previous evening, tracking the 5Q workings backwards.

Most likely 810012 after it's night testing?

Yes, 810012. Looks like it has been delivered to EMR. Surprised it happened directly from its night on test, but I guess they need them asap.
Just seen Class 810 leaving Market Harborough towards Kettering. Too far away to see Fleet Number. Sorry.

I found this one, 810006, but in the direction of Kettering then Market Harborough.

This is exactly why there are testing periods. Another problem successfully identified, traced and now a solution can be designed and implemented (in this case, one hopes a fairly simple software tweak).
I thought that trains had to do something like 1000 miles fault free before being accepted. It would make sense to test the toilets extensively as part of the process. E.g have someone go in and out several times an hour testing lock, flush, tap etc.

And they might have, but if they have been waiting for 'please lock the door' message to finish before locking the door, then the problem wouldn't be discovered.

They may just test the door locks and closes, and the toilet flushes.

After how many years of the IET/Azuma fleet being in service and this problem has never to my knowledge occurred, why would they recorate the scenarios causing them issues now.

Maybe it switched tracks at the junction north of Market Harborough station and then travelled south towards Kettering?

Presumably you saw the southbound working: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:33271/2025-11-29/detailed#allox_id=1

Looks like an Etches Park to Wellingborough and back run.

"More info on the class 810s. Initial thoughts were that it was two + flushes causing the failures, but after further testing it transpires that if a door is locked before the 'Please lock the door' message has finished, the software detects a fault and locks person in the lav!"
I had the opposite problem on a 701 this morning - door opened but failed to close again. Not wishing to "perform" in full view of the rest of the carriage, I spoke to the guard, who happened to be walking past. She couldn't get it to close either, using either the inside or outside button. (i did have a moments worry that we might be locked in together if her jabbing at the button got it to work.....)

So I had to walk down the train from coach 8 to coach 3 to fuind a working loo. (Fortunately the 701/5s are not in use yet, as that wouldn't be possible on those!)

According to RTT the 1B07 Nottingham 0549 to St Pancras 0735 is due to be a 810 tomorrow.

Could this be the first 810 in service rather than the
0700 from Sheffield?

The 0700 Sheffield to St Pancras is also shown as diesel changing to electric.

However, the data here is (I understand) showing the timing load, not a confirmation that an 810 will run the service.
My layperson's understanding is that this indicates the plan, not the reality. Presumably a 222 will substitute if an 810 is not available.

There are people on this forum who are obviously quite close to the project who will be able to give a better idea about whether an 810 will actually appear.

It's booked from today onwards as the second diagram. I can't see it being an 810 tomorrow but I'll keep an eye out and update the thread if I can

That shows a timing load, not the allocation.

What time do the allocations for tomorrow usually show up on RTT?
seems to vary - usually early hours of the morning around 1am of the day. Not seen anything appear much earlier.

It was suggested to me that the issue might be mechanical, but the last update about the toilet locking out if the wrong sequence of buttons was pressed suggest it might be software.

would this be a module that can be rewritten and tested - or is it part of a larger software package that runs other train systems. If the latter is the case, would it require all the other train systems connected to the same software package to be checked to ensure the rewrite hasn't adversely affected anything else?
