Ok thank you so would I be correct in assuming that anyone thats currently applied and awaiting a DMI for any of those depots for a mainline driver role their application will get withdrawn at some point now Or is it just for any future applications that get made?

Sorry I don’t know much about the assessment process. Why would anything change?

Ive already passed all the opc stuff and am currently waiting for a DMI with GA but all my choices I put down are apart of the Great Eastern depots so im wondering if now they'll still do the DMI or withdraw the application if its changed to shunter to mainline and not street to seat? I applied for a mainline position

Oh I see. Again I haven’t heard anything about that as decided to take early retirement a few weeks ago so not privy to the internal info I once was. Will be nice to get the backdated back pay however from any agreed pay deal.

Great Eastern depots and Norwich are now depot driver to mainline only. No more street to seat.
Are you please able to provide a source for this? I can't seem to find confirmation of this anywhere!

I have passed stage 1+2, the DMI and the medical and I am just awaiting a start date/course start date for a mainline driver role on the great eastern railway. I'm going to be heartbroken to have my role changed to a depot driver before I've even started

Colchester

I started my application last year in the previous recruitment drive, so I honestly wouldn't worry about waiting a month!

Source is this is what the company and union have agreed as part of pay deal. Whether this will affect you personally being so far along in the process I couldn’t say. Depot driver is a great job.

Has anyone heard anything more any of the jobs since this all happened? It’s coming up to that 6 month mark where they’re going to tell us the application has expired and to apply again ><

I see that the apply.greateranglia.co.uk website no longer exists. Does anyone know where we can go now to the check the status of our application?

Nice to hear some of it is still moving. I’m still waiting on stage 2 after doing stage 1 in March. Keep hoping I might hear something again soon.

When I did my DFFT 2 weeks ago at GA HQ in London (already got the other elements of the psychometric), I spoke to a Driver and he said Depot driver is now being treated like a a pre-cursor for mainline driving, i've no idea how true this is but it would reduce direct to main line applications I guess. So i'm now waiting for an interview date, once the other applicants have completed there stage 2.

So it’s depot I’m waiting on that I did the stage 1 for in March. As I figured I’d go for both roles knowing I wanted driver, but that depot would lead it it too. I’m glad passing the test lasts 5 years though at the speed they move

So you passed stage 1? If so, i'd be chasing them up about you're stage 2.

I believe stage 1 is all paper tests and stage 2 is all computer tests. Search Psychometric tests in this site and it will be explained.

Hi, I am looking to find out more about the Ipswich rotas if anyone has a sample/can let me know a pattern?
Plus any more info you think its worth knowing. I am aware that annual leave is allocated on a seasonal basis in advance?

Im in the application stages at the moment so would like to have an idea of the shifts.

Thanks in advance!

Ipswich has two links. One works everything including Intercity services to/from London. The other is just the Ipswich Regional routes to Harwich Intl, Cambridge, Peterborough, Felixstowe, Lowestoft & as they call it ‘across the top’ from Lowestoft to Norwich. They have just a few night shifts. As you say an annual rotating holiday is used and you’ll get seven loose leave days. All traction signed is Stadler.

At the moment, Colchester and Clacton have spare links with drivers in them. They will progress into the main link when they have vacancies.

I was told that if they need drivers on the quick, i.e ramp up the service they can hand pick the qualified drivers as the training will not be as long as with trainees.
