Sat in my local pub with the juke box playing random crap. Suddenly Freedom Of Choice by Devo followed by Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk came on. An extraordinary 10 mins.

Leaving my wallet on the bus. Saw it as I walked past and had a quick dash back on before it set off.
Made me smile as I had a jokey interaction with the driver

It didn’t happen today, but last year. But for some reason I was thinking about it again today.
When in Budapest, my friend left his wallet on a bus, and he is someone that has everything inside it, so would have been a huge inconvenience to have lost it.
We had got off the bus, and he only realised after we got on a tram.
I managed to work out where the bus was going to terminate, and could see where the bus was, thanks to the BudapestGo app. It was laying over at Nyugati Station. He went to the driver who gave him back his wallet!
What makes me very happy is the honesty of people. It was a very busy bus, in a large busy city, and no one stole it. Someone was kind enough to take it to the driver. And the driver was honest not to take it. My friend tried to insist giving the driver some money, but the driver refused.
I do think that humans are pretty much the same everywhere, and there will always be decent people around. I refuse to listen to people who say that certain groups or nationalities are ‘really rude’, ‘dishonest’ etc.

Sounds excellent. I'm not yet in the Christmas mood, but only because my son is getting married in early December so I'm focused on that right now.

Revisiting my post above (from 22nd March), I was walking in the same area this afternoon, enjoying the low winter sun, when I was surprised to hear skylark song again. Looking round, there were three or four birds flying around, quite low (at about 30' or below) and diving down into the grass, presumably for food. They were in sight for a minute or two.
I've never before heard one at this time of year, but my bird book confirms that they do sing year-round, although not as much outside their mating season. I heard them in the same area on a couple more occasions last spring, but not since then until today.
I was walking up 6th Avenue in midtown Manhattan on Sunday night around 9:30pm. Very quiet around those parts at that time. As I walked north, I could hear a busker playing a tenor saxophone across the street, and on my side the street vents were pumping out a decent amount of steam. Bit of a movie moment for me!

Sounds like good funI got my new gaming PC and accessories delivered today. Two giant boxes filled with toys, just like Christmas when I was a kid, except the boxes weren't as big!

Cross-reference to the 'New Haulages' thread, I was ecstatically-happy this afternoon to clear my last remaining Siena-allocated class D445 diesel-electric loco (D445 1148) for haulage with a spin out to Pontassieve on the 'school train' (R18957, 14 19 Firenze SMN-Borgo San Lorenzo).
