The old carmoola ad was getting annoying, the new one is horrendous.
Do you find this one particularly annoying, or has the 'penny dropped' that it's just another advert, trying to make an impact? In the Interactive Investor TV advert, would the money earned from the salvaging of the very large metal discs that were launched at the city be enough to pay for the damage restoration required?
I find it annoying that damage to life and property are tools that the advertising industry feel are in order to use. Why on earth is the symbolic penny the very large diameter as shown in the TV adver?.Do you find this one particularly annoying, or has the 'penny dropped' that it's just another advert, trying to make an impact?
Do you object to Hollywood films with plots that involve destruction to cars, aeroplanes, buildings etc..I find it annoying that damage to life and property are tools that the advertising industry feel are in order to use. I see no reason in being "entertained" in the manner to which you refer above and as I just cannot understand the need for such wastage in real life, so I attach the same thinking to so-called entertainment.Do you object to Hollywood films with plots that involve destruction to cars, aeroplanes, buildings etc..

Well, we all waste some resources in our lives, although many don't see it that way. For what it's worth, scenes such as this are created once, and then shown to many, therefore the wastage per capita is way below that of some mundane activities of humans that people deny having a negative impact.I see no reason in being "entertained" in the manner to which you refer above and as I just cannot understand the need for such wastage in real life, so I attach the same thinking to so-called entertainment.
It probably ha, but some here seem to think that the set is damaged at great cost and waste to humanity.Have to say that the 'Interactive Investor' (Penny Drop) advert looks like it's been using CGI visual effects to me.
Must admit, I go to parents' houses and they have live TV on and it dawn's on me that I haven't properly watched it in months. Sometimes watch it in hotels etc but even then, if I'm travelling I often have a computer of some sort which I can connect to watch Netflix etc."Annoying television adverts..."
All of them, IMO, partly why I gave up watching live tv years ago.
In what 'other way' is that advertisement "annoying".An annoying, in another way, TV advert is the one for Amazon showing 3 old ladies sledging down a snowy hill; This is an old one, and I was sure that at one point the old ladies (rather movingly) turned into the young girls they once were, but that part is hardly ever shown now. I think I've seen the ad multiple times but that bit only once, this year.

That's because advertisement screen time is expensive, so once the gist of the original version has reached it's audience, (clearly it reached you because you remember it and noticed it's omission) it can be trimmed to economise on time or put further emphasis on the actual sales pitch.Because, as I said, I find the part where the old ladies turn into the young girls they once were moving, and it is IMHO a pity to lose, usually, that section of the ad.

Pure Cremation appear to have inside info judging by my mail one day earlier this year.Any of the purecremation ads
Is this the advert? (= "More than a gift"). Schmaltzy? Certainly! Annoying? Maybe not so much compared with numerous others. The Pandora advert with the ginger boy who goes to the jewelers in snowy weather in just his pyjamas - I'm sure his mother and the lady at the jewelers are the same person. Also, is this advert aimed at children to try and pressure them into buying jewellery? Not the first advert I've seen with children buying their parents jewellery.
Does anyone remember Lisa Stansfield some years ago singing about "going round and round the world looking for her baby". Perhaps that advert recreates that event.Exactly a year to the day (8th November) when I made that posting above, the same female appeared in the Dior TV advert wailing about "our baby".
Is this that nonsense that meant Coronation Street was scheduled for 20.05 instead of 20.00 last night? There was an advert scheduled on ITV1 last night called "The Perfect Gift" which was a five minute advert. Even though it didn't feature the name of the supermarket, Waitrose, until the very end, it had some shots filmed in a supermarket.
Yeah Corrie was scheduled last night for 20.05, but still ended at 20.57. Programmes afterwards "caught up" and were back to normal schedule. I think Corrie had shorter breaks to compensate. Is this that nonsense that meant Coronation Street was scheduled for 20.05 instead of 20.00 last night?
Assuming it was, it backfired spectacularly as I just left the room to do something else until the scheduled start time of Coronation Street, so I didn't see a single minute of it...
The end credits started at 21.01 where I am ( London region broadcasts )Yeah Corrie was scheduled last night for 20.05, but still ended at 20.57. Programmes afterwards "caught up" and were back to normal schedule. I think Corrie had shorter breaks to compensate.
Ah. UTV finished a bit earlier. Virgin Media One has it at the normal hour though and was early for Part One but had an extended break so Part Two was roughly the same time. The end credits started at 21.01 where I am ( London region broadcasts )
That is not Winona Ryder. If it was she'd probably be stealing from that shop. Which seems to be what that boy is doing seeing as no payment takes place and he then legs it. A heart warming story of inappropriate winter clothing and shop lifting. Is this the advert? (= "More than a gift"). Schmaltzy? Certainly! Annoying? Maybe not so much compared with numerous others.
Believe the lead actress in the advert *might* just be Winona Ryder. Is she portraying multiple roles though? Not sure on that!
Neither the child's mother in the advert or the woman behind the counter in the store? (Who may, or may not, be the same person). That is not Winona Ryder.
Definitely neither. If those 'two' women are the same then she's definitely getting fired for letting her child steal for her own personal gain. So add in a mother losing her job before Christmas to this magical tale being told.Neither the child's mother in the advert or the woman behind the counter in the store? (Who may, or may not, be the same person).
