60099 seems to be undergoing final testing.
Saw a video of it yesterday moving outside the shed at Loughborough.David Fletcher posted on his Linkedin last Friday that Ben is due on the loadbank this week and then out for testing

why is 60099 causing such excitement - what am I missing about it?
Got you - thanks! Assumed it had some wider significance. It's the first of the UKRL rebuilds for Cappagh/DCR, totally stripped and rebuilt at Loughborough after its years of careful and considerate DB storage at Toton, it will be followed by 60013 currently being worked on at UKRL Loughborough and 60022 currently at Boden Rail Rectory Junction, 60060 is also at Boden for assessment with another nine stored at Loughborough either for rebuild or spares donation as required
The only wider significance is for those of us for who love Class 60's! Always been my favourite class of loco, and given how few of them are in operation at the moment, the fact that DCR are actively working to put some back in to traffic is exciting to see.Got you - thanks! thanks - was really checking it was the last X or the first Y that meant the loco had some wider significance. It is great Cappagh have rebuilt this loco. Hopefully they can do more because that would be a sign of business growthThe only wider significance is for those of us for who love Class 60's! 60013 is next in line in the ’25 shop’ at UKRL Loughborough (ex Brush) as detailed a few pages backHopefully they can do more because that would be a sign of business growth

Presumably once they've successfully done the first few, it then becomes quicker/cheaper to do subsequent ones (and make better informed decisions about which ones are worth investing in getting back to work). That might include for other operators too?The only wider significance is for those of us for who love Class 60's! Yes, initial one usually takes the longest. Then the work should speed upPresumably once they've successfully done the first few, it then becomes quicker/cheaper to do subsequent ones (and make better informed decisions about which ones are worth investing in getting back to work).
