Has anybody from the October applications heard anything back yet?
I got a rejection email a week or so ago. I don't know what that'd mean fornyou if you haven't received anything yet good or bad but good luck

I just got an email for the Bletchley post advising that “The sift is expected to take place sometime in November or December” so just waiting patiently.

Applied for Chiltern on the 1st of October also, has anyone heard back from them?

I’ve just received an email saying I’ve got my OPC Online Sift for West Midlands in November or December.

If anyone can help me with this whole process and give me tips that would be really appreciated

Bizarrely I received and email an hour after posting the question to let me know the next sift would be the OPC online tests and would be some time this month or December. Also they reiterated that my application was only for Bletchley and if I wanted another depot I would need to reapply and it’s not transferable. Thankfully Bletchley is the closest to me.

Very strange bletchley wasn't my closest, but it was the only one I seen on this forum I applied then seen the Coventry on their site... which is slightly closer to me.. I seen on here that someone emailed them with a similar situation and they added the other location to their application/account. I emailed them and got nothing so if the rejection is to do with location im going to be really angry haha

Did you see GBrf have a couple of trainee positions open in your area.

They were quite simple not much to them, they give you a brief example before each assessment.

Hi,

Has anyone made it through to the 2nd stage(online tests) of the WMT trainee driver role based at Bletchley?
The emails were only sent out yesterday for the online tests from the OPC and you are given until the 7th Dec to complete them.
I’d be surprised if you hear anything before next week.

I completed mine last night.

Ah ok. I’ve done spatial awareness and personality based tests for XC before, the former was very difficult, so just want to give myself the best chance of passing them. Had anyone here completed them yet? The email states four tests which are:

MR-KQWest Midlands Railway: More about you
WMR-PQWest Midlands Railway: Preference Questions
WMR-TB-DTWest Midlands Railway: Priorities - Driving Tasks
WMR-SJTWest Midlands Railway: Situational Judgement

Yes I completed mine last night. It’s nothing like technical and each test is clearly explained before you start it. Just go with what you feel is correct.

Good luck.

The priorities test gives you 16 different things that could possibly be part of your daily role as a trainee train driver. You have to choose which 3 you agree with (are most important) in 1st 2nd and 3rd place priority and then the 3 you least prioritise.

The SJT is pretty standard like any other you would do when applying to a TOC. There is loads of information about them on this forum so have a search and you should find all the answers you need, that’s exactly what i did when I first started down the road of applying for a driver job.
