5711 is covered in graffiti all along one side. 5721 has a bit at one end too.

HI.
Not sure but these are the ones I see as "not withdrawn". Others keep more detailed lists, so can ammend perhaps.
5701-03, 05, 06, 08-12, 14, 15, 17, 19-21, 23, 27-32, 34, 37, 39, 50.
5849, 52, 63, 69, 70-73.
Some have mentioned 5750 and 5870 as next for scrap, so perhaps they are withdrawn ? I don't know for sure.
No graffiti seen on the right side lol

Is that 100/137 to scrap no

Saw 5732 on the rear of an UP Woking stopper this morning from street level if that helps?

5715 has gone for scrap, but 5716 is still in service. However, the rest are correct with the proviso that 5727 has been out of use since 15.08.25 and 5870 since 24.09.25

Many thanks for this. Last days in service are really helpful. I correct the error on my sheet. I haven't noted 5710 for a while. I wonder if thats been out a while or have I just been missing it ?

5710 was out of use for over a month until last Saturday when it worked paired with 5701 on an all day Shepperton diagram. It looks like that pair ended the day at Strawberry Hill CSD and have not done anything since, so they may still be there?

Best not to ever share any such images anywhere, which you haven't here, so good on you mate. I have my own ideas about dealing with the scum who do this, but will not mention same on here, as likely the woke pol-lice might turn up on my door step telling me I have infringed the 'human rites' of some scum bag or other just expressing themselves!

One of the ends of 5730 was covered with graffiti last time I saw it too. It definitely seems like Wimbledon is not trying as hard to keep up with the maintenance of these units as they're withdrawn.

I don't post pictures of graffiti. As it happens, I did take a photo in Woking bay platform, but the graffiti is barely visible. I only took it because it could be my last run on the unit.

PTSO or platform depending on the weather

Same here. I can't remember the number now but I remember 2 carriages of a 455/7 being completely daubed with grafitti recently, stabled in the platform at Waterloo. I did take a picture in case it was my last, but it was sent to Wimbledon and had the errant "artwork" cleaned off.

Thanks for that gen. Much appreciated. Of course as it stands there is the Railtour coming up on 21st Dec. Suppose 5701 will be a candidate ? Time will tell. Thanks again.

All the talk is that the end of the year is a hard cut off. If a full service is run on the 22nd or 23rd December though I wouldn't be surprised if some run after the farewell on the 21st.

What is significant about the end of the year? Another week or two won't make any difference. Better than cancelling trains.

I believe something contractually about payments.
To quote Alan Partridge, that sounds disconcertingly vague. Passengers just want the train to turn up and preferably get a seat too. Replacing 11 sets of stock by new year will be challenging.

In terms of diagrams it's only one a week required to replace all the 455 diagrams. All the current diagrams haven't been covered recently but two new 701s have been accepted this week which will hopefully help things a bit. It's definitely challenging but it's possible.

Not to sure if this is a glitch in the system but if it isn't then this is a warm welcome for 5870 back in service, very glad to see that she is finally back out and working, I though all hope was lost but I guess she still lives on, but of this is a glitch please let me know it would be much appreciated :)

Given the track record of this project I have no faith at all that this will happen.

Assuming it fails - will the 455's stay on or will it be a case of (more) short forms and cancellations until the 701's eventually enter service?

It's definitely out I'm on it now arriving at Waterloo. 1054 Guildford via Bookham next.

Perhaps SWR will claim that no one travels in January and February and introduce a "Winter timetable"...
