5742 and 5713 I believe will see the chop at some point, definitely next in the recent line to go. Marked duo
5750 too. It had a najor MA failure.5742 and 5713 I believe will see the chop at some point, definitely next in the recent line to go. Marked duo
I don't believe so.I’m guessing no sign Of a scrap move tomorrow then?
At Feltham itself, 18:11 to Waterloo (from Weybridge) is booked as a 4-car 455. The 17:46 to Waterloo (from Ascot) and 19:04 to Ascot are on a 458 diagram that is a 4-car 455 today as well.Does anyone know if 455s will be on any Feltham line diagrams this evening after 1700/1730?
Sorry, should have been clearer, I meant departing waterloo in the direction of the Reading line (which I know is partly closed right now)At Feltham itself, 18:11 to Waterloo (from Weybridge) is booked as a 4-car 455. An update on Unimetals, it still owes Sims Australia a lot of money, a £55m payment is still outstanding, but things are progressing. There must be quite a backlog of 455s now awaiting scrap drags. If only there was room at the other end!
A spokesperson added: "Unimetals has today filed a further notice of intention to appoint administrators to give the business additional time to reach a binding deal with potential financiers that secures investment and protects the long-term interests of employees, creditors, customers, and suppliers."
Glad 5863 can be fixed up, sad that 5870 might never see passenger services again, thank you for the info on thatThey'll go whenever they run out of miles. Could be after the 455s or it could be before. Who knows. All i'll say is 8535 is probably the next one to drop. 8533 and 8530 spent a considerable amount of time in the depot during 2023 and 2025 respectively so i'd assume that they're last.

As an update, 5863 had a MA fault which is of course fixed, and 5870 needs a new bearing(so probably scrap for that one).
455686 in blue seems secure at Derby, still no confirmation from Network Rail if they want all or part of it as a stationary training unit?.What new owners?
Do you mean since the timetable change in May, when more were deployed on metro routes, or more recently than that?Have more class 450s been deployed on the usual 455 diagrams? I've noticed them more on the metro routes which were historically only ever 455, and sometimes, 458
I think there are nine pairs at the moment. I don't know if that has changed in the past year.Have more class 450s been deployed on the usual 455 diagrams? I've noticed them more on the metro routes which were historically only ever 455, and sometimes, 458
Is that it? I thought we’d reached a point where more were 450s than 455s, to be honest.I think there are nine pairs at the moment. I don't know if that has changed in the past year.
That's on the Wimbledon side. There are five pairs on Weybridge/Reading.Is that it? I thought we’d reached a point where more were 450s than 455s, to be honest.
Except on those services (and Windsor until recent displacement) they've been there since new and didn't replace 455s, just as the 450s on the mainline outer suburban and long distance have been. That's on the Wimbledon side. There are five pairs on Weybridge/Reading.
Pretty much there given I think there's about 9-10 pairs of 455s left diagrammed. Is that it? I thought we’d reached a point where more were 450s than 455s, to be honest.
Agreed, which is why I only referred to the Wimbledon diagrams in my earlier post.Except on those services (and Windsor until recent displacement) they've been there since new and didn't replace 455s, just as the 450s on the mainline outer suburban and long distance have been.

Which two trailer coaches? There are three (two driving trailers and one intermediate)From the message I got earlier last night, Network Rail have purchased U.455868 and the two trailer coaches are going to be transported by road to the ROC at Basingstoke for training purposes. (Regional Operations Control)

Not planned. It's a substitute. SWR are currently trying to run 25 daily diagrams with the 25 701s currently passed for service. That would be a nigh-on impossible task even for a well-established fleet.Seems like 455s are still running the Shepperton services, not sure if this one was actually planned but I guess the 455s will still see the Shepperton end. Units here are 5729 and 5849.

Thought 5750 was a special one after the renumbering to the old BS number.5750 too. It had a najor MA failure.
Nothing special technically. It just happened to be the highest-numbered 455/7 (originally 5743). The last 455 to be built was 5920, which is long gone.Thought 5750 was a special one after the renumbering to the old BS number.
AH, that's why I didn't see 458530.All 3 458/5s were out by the looks of it. 8530 has been doing Wokingham services as well as Weybridge and Waterloo loop services. I wonder how long the 3 458/5s have left. If they even have a future.
