5872 worked as recently as last Thursday, when it was paired with 5708 (which was notable for being involved in the Fulwell incident earlier in the week)I have 5872 last in traffic on 27/08 and 5874 31/07. Someone else may know differently.

The current Unimetals administrators may try and keep income coming in from Newport, but there may be other costs in running the scrap operation, which may be only a small part of Unimetals UK operation.
What new owners? Not sure how old the footage is vs when it was uploaded but in this video of a Ruston 48 being moved after the greatest Gathering you can see the ol Br Blue spanners 455 in the background. Wondering if it is still at Derby and not with its new owners yet.
Thanks for that, I can't see it out today but one day I'll drop lucky im sure.5872 was out with 5708 on Saturday. Saw it at Ashtead on 2D23.View attachment 191189
This week's new 701 diagram indeed replaces the last 455 Shepperton diagram. Thanks for that, I can't see it out today but one day I'll drop lucky im sure.
Noted today on RTT, there are no 455s on Sheppertons. The 458 diagram is still holding. The latest 455 diagram to changeover perhaps ?
5863 hasn't been doing so well i've heard. I believe that unit is at its end. 5870 should return to service at some point, but we can't say more until information provides itself.Does anyone have any information on the status of 455863 as she hasn't been out for a little bit, and is there any updates on 455870 as she still hasn't been out for a month and a half and if she is still getting the repairs, or being stripped for parts
5863 has required several repairs from minor corrosion to equipment, water leaking issues and issues with the Train download black box system. Still at Wimbledon.5863 hasn't been doing so well i've heard. I believe that unit is at its end. 5870 should return to service at some point, but we can't say more until information provides itself.
Thought they would have withdrawn that unit with all of that in the way. 701s are entering service every week, so. They still have some 458/5s that could cover for it. I know that 458401 and 8418 haven't moved since August!5863 has required several repairs from minor corrosion to equipment, water leaking issues and issues with the Train download black box system. No they are not - there have been only four in the last two months, and none at all in the last ten days701s are entering service every week, so.
“Rumours” from who, please? You are very often posting optimistic speculation about 701s which turns out not to happen?Rumours are that a large batch are about to enter service together as part of a significant switch of diagrams.
A substantial number had their status updated on the national vehicle register about two weeks ago, which supports a large batch being ready for service soon.“Rumours” from who, please? You are very often posting optimistic speculation about 701s which turns out not to happen?

And it doesn't make sense anyway given there's an almost daily shortage of 701s. You'd think that some of this huge batch of 701s waiting in the wings could be used to cover the shortages...“Rumours” from who, please? Funny that because my wife insists I’m a tedious pessimist!“Rumours” from who, please? You are very often posting optimistic speculation about 701s which turns out not to happen?
"Almost" every week i should have said. It's still decent. No they are not - there have been only four in the last two months, and none at all in the last ten days

All 3 458/5s were out by the looks of it. 8530 has been doing Wokingham services as well as Weybridge and Waterloo loop services. I wonder how long the 3 458/5s have left. If they even have a future.458533 and 458535 were out all day today.
Niot that recent. 14th July and 24th June respectively."Almost" every week i should have said. It's still decent.

701051 and 701025 are also recent IF i'm correct? Please feel free to correct me otherwise.
All three are out on most days. One pair on Sheppertons and the other single unit on Reading / Weybridge. All 3 458/5s were out by the looks of it. 8530 has been doing Wokingham services as well as Weybridge and Waterloo loop services. Slightly off topic but I’d always assumed they would be withdrawn and replaced with 701s after the final 455s have goneAll three are out on most days. One pair on Sheppertons and the other single unit on Reading / Weybridge.
They'll go whenever they run out of miles. Could be after the 455s or it could be before. Who knows. All i'll say is 8535 is probably the next one to drop. 8533 and 8530 spent a considerable amount of time in the depot during 2023 and 2025 respectively so i'd assume that they're last.Slightly off topic but I’d always assumed they would be withdrawn and replaced with 701s after the final 455s have gone
As an update, 5863 had a MA fault which is of course fixed, and 5870 needs a new bearing(so probably scrap for that one).Does anyone have any information on the status of 455863 as she hasn't been out for a little bit, and is there any updates on 455870 as she still hasn't been out for a month and a half and if she is still getting the repairs, or being stripped for parts
It also depends on when each unit's last major exams (C4 and/or C6) was - the units have not been overhauled in number sequence.8533 and 8530 spent a considerable amount of time in the depot during 2023 and 2025 respectively so i'd assume that they're last.
