Thank you!I don't really know, haven't heard of it! When I'm next working i'll give an ask for you.

The class 58 group had a meeting there 2 or 3 years ago and were shown around by Simon (HTRS), I think you would need to be a member of a society and on an organised visit to get access, as they are very strict on who gets through the gate (it is a working commercial site after all)I just wondered if the Railway itself had considered doing organised visits, similar to what the SVR do with their diesel depot as there is clearly some interest in what is being stored there and it adds an extra angle to what the railway offers visitors.
I am not sure Henry Tudor was a train man!Surprised that there is no mention of the line on the Battlefield Heritage site.
The scrap yard I should think!Just seen a photo of 45015 on a low loader this evening, no idea where it is going though
You can walk from Shenton station to the battlefield visitor centre, takes about 20 minutes {the walk is along the footpath through fields so not really access able)I have visited both sites but not together. Can they be done by train?

Long Marston?
Sadly due to Insurance purposes we aren't able to give tours, if we did though, you would need to buy the Membership whom I think is about £40.Sorry I should have said that I am an ICRS member so aware of what they have been doing.

That’s a great pic.
Heya, so who I asked doesn't know much as well. Gonna ask a bit more when Im next there, sorry for a late reply as well!Thank you!
From what I have heard, the 45 Bogies are being saved for another train whilst the rest I believe is going to be scrapped.I am not sure Henry Tudor was a train man!

I understand the generator from 45015 has already been removed. Talk on WNXX it is off to Eastleigh for stripping and Asbestos removalI thought the owners of 45132 were going to purchase the remains of the generator to repair theirs ?
The generator is long gone, (45132 I think was the recipient), water tanks (and the remains of the boiler) are at Peak loco HQ Butterley ready for installation into 45041. The control cubicle was emptied, the pistons, liners and con rods were all removed when it was at Toton at the invitation of the depot manager at the time. It will be going to LSL at Crewe for final component recovery which includes the bogies as back up for 45118. The rest will go for recycling.I understand the generator from 45015 has already been removed. Talk on WNXX it is off to Eastleigh for stripping and Asbestos removal

Hiya guys, so the 45 is being scrapped entirely now excluding the bogies I was told, but weird that some parts are coming out of it without it all being disgustingly rotten & unuseable.I thought the owners of 45132 were going to purchase the remains of the generator to repair theirs ?
It won’t be going to Crewe - it’s gone to a site near Throckmorton Airfield where it will be lifted from its bogies, any useable components removed (can imagine the cab doors and windscreen will be useful) then sent off for scrap. The generator is long gone, (45132 I think was the recipient), water tanks (and the remains of the boiler) are at Peak loco HQ Butterley ready for installation into 45041. That’s only at one end though. Cab door and windscreen certainly on the other end at Throckmorton, and they haven’t been re-instated for transit! This is what the Peak looked like in August:

No sign of a cab door or windscreen!
It is now on a panel of track and chained down to it (the defective bogie being one of the reasons how it ended up remaining at Toton for so long). It’s in avery sorry state and once LSL have taken what’s left (cab glass, 1 cab door, bogies and tanks) I can’t see it taking long to torch.
You would need to do a Trackside Test as well & work for the railway I believe.I’d become a member if that was part of the membership.
Have you tried a bit of advertising in the locals?Heya! I work on the battlefield line.
I can agree on the people that plan it not doing much, giving other things better standards than others, its just the things we have are too little to handle some problems. problems, like Mkt Bosworth being an apocalypse!, We are working on making things better around as am I.
And yes it is very quiet. Last train on the transport gala had one person on board, including staff two from market Bosworth to Shack.
We are in the middle of nowhere as well whom makes it worse.
Thanks :3
