There's quite a few diesel locos being restored there including 40118, 37906, a 25 and a couple of 33's plus others.

The loco's on site are mostly privately owned and are being restored on a commercial basis. They are not owned by the line or being worked on by "volunteers".

Have you tried a bit of advertising in the locals?
I love the line & not because it’s a 5 mile drive from home.
Some lines could learn a thing or two from The Battlefield line.
Recently visited this line, South Devon Railway & the Bodmin and Wenford.
Not big lines but oozing with charm & atmosphere & all 3 gave off that preserved line feeling.

I don't know about our Advertising, Admin Office does that.
Most lines can learn a few things from eachother actually from what I've seen.

Actually, only about 50% are privately owned. We do have a lot, it is just relatively unknown what we have.

Does anyone know if LAB-4 (Class 201 RDB 975386 Laboratory Coach 4 - modified for ATP testing) is still there, looking at the Hastings Diesels website, it notes it was moved in 2017?

I enjoyed my visit to the line a few years back. Some of the redundant rolling stock actually added to the charm, though the Peak was an eyesore. The DMU in service was in reasonable condition and was crewed by two people in Chiltern Railways outfits. Not sure of the story behind that.

Market Bosworth village is very nice though some distance from the station. The battlefield site itself is of much interest as well. Nearby there is a canal that can be walked along. The line is a bit remote if you are using public transport, but it would be unfair to say it is "in the middle of nowhere".

Visiting the Battlefield Line is now quite high on my list of things to do this year. I want to have a day there including a walk from Shenton Station to the Battlefield Site. I visited Market Bosworth village and Country Park on a very frosty day in winter a couple of years ago but have never been to the railway. It’s only an hours drive from home so easily done. I had planned to visit midweek in October but didn’t go because of wet weather
