Halton doesn't publish bus maps anymore [they publish timetables] i can't find the map on the Halton Council website, & Warrington network map is dated October 24.

Chester West & Chester do publish bus maps, look up ay my post for the links, have a look at other posts first, before posting illinformed posts.
I was on about timetables not maps

Lancashire do produce timetable leaflets still, though these are not always available at bus stations. Clitheroe for example you can get paper leaflets from the library but not from the interchange as the ticket office closed. Lancs tends to produce them for routes where the operator doesn’t and for subsidised or tendered routes. Transdev do produce quality timetable leaflets still.
On the trains, do Northern still produce them?

Medway's guide was last printed in October 2024. It isn't guaranteed to be produced every year - especially if the network is largely stable - but when it has been it is usually autumn. There have been some route changes since the last edition, so time will presumably soon tell whether we are 'due' a new one or not.
No sooner do you mention it, than it appears as if summoned! Medway's Autumn 2025 map was published on Friday, and restocking permitted, should be available in the rack in the Pentagon Shopping Centre.

I picked up a printed Hyndburn / Accrington map last week. I only knew of this because I saw one for sale on Ebay!
Stoke-on-Trent is about to produce a printed map.
Interesting that map on eBay says ‘Map 7’ so I wonder, are Lancashire bringing back their full set, that haven’t existed for a good decade. Will the two unitary authorities join in?

Lancashire does ok for printed publicity, most services have a leaflet, either council produced or operator produced. The main issue is getting hold of them. In Preston for example, they are kept behind the counter, a counter that only has very limited weekday morning only opening hours. Most tourist information centres and other operator offices have closed down.

There is no indication on the Hyndburn map whether they (LCC) intend to produce a full set, with or without the unitaries. I haven't looked online as yet.

Map 7 was traditionally the Hyndburn map number. The most recent paper map I have was 2009 with a pdf in 2010.

I obtained my copy from Accrington Bus Station with is staffed until 1800ish. I actually had it from the cleaner who was doing the office at the time very close to 1800! At Blackburn there was nothing on display or visible behind the glass.

PS there is a route diagram for Blackburn as a pdf, dated April 2025: https://bwdconnect.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/bwd-bus-network-01-04-25-London-style.pdf.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority doesn't officially (although Cambridgeshire County Council did when it was their responsibility), however they produced a one off one for internal use earlier this year and it's at this link
Yeah that was the work of a consultant called Jarrett Walker who worked with the Combined Authority so they could see the state of their bus network before franchising takes place, it's a very clear and well made map too. A standard too often missing in many areas. The map even indicates frequencies of routes which is rare. https://humantransit.org/2025/06/bus-service-in-england-the-need-for-clearer-maps.html

He has mainly worked with US cities on this stuff but was also a major player in the Dublin Bus network redesign which is slowly being rolled out. I believe he is in Britain now or soon actually hoping to given advice and help to various county councils on their bus networks.

I have a 2003 Southern Vectis timetable book, which has a fold-out map at the front and town maps at the back. I assume it's still produced. Timetables for two routes not operated by SV are included. Morebus produces a timetable book covering the Bournemouth area with fold-out map. These are both in the Go-Ahead style. There's a Plymouth route map produced by the City Council, in both pdf and paper form.

Devon County Council produce paper booklets including timetables and maps, divided into geographic regions. Unable to find a PDF version though.

Devon County Council produce printed bus timetable area guides once a year, usually in early summer. These are distributed to Tourist Information Centres, libraries and other local information outlets.

West Yorkshire has maps covering most of the county in lots of bits.

They're not as good as they used to be and have errors that they don't correct when pointed out (coming out of Keighley the 62, 66, M4 disappear for a while with just the weekly 866 showing then reappear at the edge of the map, the 820 still show's last year's route when it ran from Keighley rather than Bradford).

I've not seen a printed one since about 2018.
The printed ones disappeared when they couldn’t keep up with bus service changes.
I think there was an Ilkley-Otley Wharfedale map

The Ilkley, Otley, Wharfedale map is now under Wharfedale and Wetherby, & still includes Ilkley & Otley.

Although Gwynedd stopped updating their PDF map years ago, Lloyds Coaches now have maps showing all of north- and some of mid-Wales, far greater than their area of operation:

If only the councils linked to that

The only Lancashire bus timetable leaflet I have found recently is one for the 11 service in Settle Station.

Any councils in Scotland still print bus maps?

Argyll and Bute did some good maps.

Sadly they seem to be severely lacking in producing bus maps. England actually seems to have far more councils producing bus maps than Scotland or Wales have. I remember both Argyll & Bute Council and Highland Council used to even have paper maps.

The last edition from Argyll & Bute Council that i can find is September 2017.

The last edition from Highland Council that i can find is from July 2014.

It is a shame as both are rural areas and get a lot of tourism and could really do with a bus map again.

I think the last maps were produced in 2019 as I do have a Leeds and Calderdale one from 2019. The only other time that Metro produced any sort of printed map was when the Leeds core network was introduced (2022?) and two rounds of maps were produced, one with PR1 and PR2 listed with PR3 added a bit later. As of 2025, I haven't seen any printed map produced.

Someone earlier mentioned the West Sussex map, I can confirm that the last time any were printed was in 2014 as I'd pick up my copy from either Horsham or Chichester libraries or tourist information centres. Wiltshire's map was scrapped in 2009 after the county council was abolished. I don't think Somerset County Council ever produced a map unless someone can correct me.

The PDF versions of the Devon County Council timetable books were scrapped a couple of years ago, the interactive map will (if you click on a service number) send you to Traveline South West but even that's changed.

West Sussex County Council did continue publishing online PDF ones after that. It seems that the final PDF that they produced was in September 2019 and that remained on their website until about six months ago. Sadly they have given up with PDF ones now too.

Nexus, (Tyne & Wear PTE) used to publish bus maps, but the last ones they published was 2014 (maybe earlier).

Glasgow, i don't think Strathclyde Partnershiup for Transport have published maps since the 90s, so First Glasgow published them instead, & First Glasgow network maps included routes by other operators (like the Stagecoach 4 to Ayr), however the lastest First Glasgow maps only have First Glasgow routes on them.

SPT used to publish paper maps until around 2010/11.

Scotland is pretty scarce for printed bus maps and the like with only Lothian doing so now.

Devon has a 2025 map online https://www.cartogold.co.uk/Devon/map.html#devon
I have paper maps for Somerset from 2004 and Wiltshire 2006! But those are not necessarily the last, just when I happened to pick one up.
