Heysham Harbour just one train a day?

Stranraer(think the harbour prefix has been dropped)?

Pembroke Dock pretty bleak in winter?

Guide Bridge compared to what it used to be.

Water Orton?

That's my selection

Pilning and St. Andrews Road I'd certainly agree with.
Imagine the poor soul waiting for the train at Pilning, deciding it's not coming, walking to Severn Beach. Waiting there, and when the train does arrive and depart having to leave at St Andrews Road as the train breaks down.

Also Smethwick Galton Bridge. For a station that is meant to be an Interchange between the Snow Hill and the New Street to Wolverhampton line it's pretty unwelcoming to passengers. There's hardly any platform canopies particularly on platforms 3 and 4, a minimum of seating and tiny waiting rooms that are only open during the limited staffing hours, it can be a grim place to change trains at.

Heysham Harbour just one train a day?

The area around Heysham port itself is bleak, with the nuclear power station looming over everything and truck parking for the ferries as far as the eye can see. The station itself is nothing more than a bus shelter these days. But the ferry terminal has recently been refurbished and it’s a nice place to wait, whether that’s for the ferry or the train.

Morecambe, on the other hand, really is a bleak station.

Though vastly improved…
Although the platform canopies are still hobbit-sized and completely ineffectual. I’d not say it was a bleak station though. It’s just a weird station.

I vote for the characterless wind tunnel called Stevenage , whenever I’ve been it’s been wet and windy and the wind seems to blow straight through on the up main , add the rain in winter it becomes the definition of bleak

Yes Stevenage on a grey winter evening in the rain is a pretty depressing experience. Same can be said for most of the town, the town centre in particular is utterly dire.

But at least there are four places at the station where you can buy a coffee!

It's quite dirty too, years of grime everywhere.

And the bridge over from the SEC feels a bit unsafe, fully enclosed and with blind corners.

The bridge has never felt unsafe to me, although I normally only use it at busy times (ie for Model Rail Scotland...). The greatest hazard is half the width being given over to a cycle lane! It does at least provide covered (mostly) and traffic free access between the station and the SEC.

Harwarden Bridge is a place I'd find bleak and unpleasant after once ending up there for some obscure reason

Someone earlier mentioned Lelant Saltings, a station I've always hated as an embarrassment to Cornwall and my home village, though why anyone would find themselves on the ugly concrete platform other than for the two services a day between eight and nine in the morning is beyond me. At least there is the Old Quay House pub nearby,

My vote still goes for Berney Arms-

To reach the station it is a one mile walk from nearest road across muddy fields occupied by cows.
When you reach the station it has no shelter- just a platform and a seat.!
Not a place to be in a howling gale and heavy rain.

At least Corrour has the cafe adjacent to the station.

A classic example of a station that was opened for a specific purpose and now that purpose is no longer needed there is absolutely no point the station still being open and served by trains.

A classic Parliamentary. I guess it would be a good site for a new ecovillage, though?

I had occasion to use Wigan North Western last week, first time in decades. The 70s vibe is really scabby and dreary now, and there's something about the expanse of bare elevated platforms that makes standing there particularly grim - admittedly the rain didn't help.
And there are better vistas.
And no I'm not having a go at Wigan - Wallgate appears to be the polar opposite.

I nominate the closed stations of Royton Junction, Park (both Gtr Mcr), Loch Skerrow on the old Port Road & Blaenrhondda.
Loch Skerrow is a good shout, especially going back to the time before the Forestry Commission started planting trees across the upland landscape. Its rather dubious status as a proper station could only add to the sense of bleakness!

Swindon station as viewed from the street has to be in a contest for bleakness. A disused office block over the entrance area with many boarded up windows.
Or viewed from the station.

Maryport, it is after all in Maryport
I like Maryport!

I'll nominate North Camp. I've not been there for years so it may have changed but I once had a boyfriend who lived nearby so I used the station a lot. It was bleak no matter what the time of year.

Especially in steam days. Must have been utterly dreadful.
They must have had a refurb sometime after the end of steam , There's no way a steamer would be allowed to run though all those tunnels and into stations which look like they had no vents for steam to escape. unless the stations have been extensively rebuilt since the end of steam i would expect them to look more like the H&C platforms at Baker Street with lots of vents for steam.

Squires gate /Blackpool was a bit gloomy and Depressing 20 years ago. In the winter on a Sunday and the train every 2 hours , Usually a 153 would turn up and still have spare seats at Preston, Not been back since.
