I know it seems long winded but if provided with all the information (as you have done for the first time in 3 pages!) the guard may be able to make a better retail choice.

. If I had to imagine all of the possible reasons someone might come up with for refusing to sell me a ticket, I'd be talking to the guard all day, whereas all I really want to do is to buy the correct ticket.
