The 350/2s (the ones Northern would be getting) are 16 and 17 years old (built in 2008 and 2009). You wouldn't think it though, because of the unrefurbished-ness of them.Given that the 323's are now over 30 years old I don't think that is a bad thing. While I still think there is life in the 323's I think they do need to be phased out. I know the 350's are now getting on a bit (must be 20 years old?) but they are still decent trains if they have decent seats. I actually quite like the trains on the LNW 350 Crewe to London route.
West Midlands Trains is keeping the 20 and 21 year old 350/1s (built in 2004 and 2005) and the 11 and 12 year old 350/3s and 350/4s (built in 2013 and 2014).
