I dare say we will have to wait until next week for the full details, I'm starting to wonder if they 73 will do both Livingston Village and Armadale. Either way it sounds like were getting some improvements.
Armadale will gain a service to Livingston

Looks great. It would be nice if these 2 were preserved one day and put back into their harlequin livery with roller blinds as well.905 plus I presume 906 Have been given "harlequin" style Lothian destination screens - this is a nice nod to the past and it was nice to see someone take the time to implement this into their destination screens. I had to do some edits from a video I took of the front to minimise the flicker of the LED's

I believe it’s also to make it possible for the frequency increase.

72 is the only one getting an increase and it won’t be as frequent as half an hour.We can only hope, at least every half hour for each of the local services.

40 minute frequency I presume, sounds about right! Any word if any of these services will have evening journeys or anything later than 8pm?
How? It’d be 6 if every 40 minutes. This is starting to sound like a fudge.. there will be NO increase in PVR.
This is lovely, and shows that someone took the time indeed. An increase of 2 buses needed suggests that 464-465 will be the two to move across as extra.
I think this is fairly likely. The Kirkliston section is just removed purely due to increase reliability. It should remain a 4 hour circuit, however with the 20 minutes or so gained back used to increase the running time on what’s left and also to increase the layover at each end.It could be every 40 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and hourly Sunday and evenings.
It could quite feasibly just terminate at The High Schools/Xcite Hub. A big turning circle and plenty of place to rest.I think this is fairly likely. I’m not sure how a terminus in Winchburgh might work. The M9 stopping point that the X19 uses is not really suitable at all as it’s not even a bus stop, but rather just a bit of road with enough space to stop at and for vehicles to go around the ‘parked’ bus.
It could, but I feel like that would result in it missing half of Winchburgh out though? Which half depends which way you sent it.It could quite feasibly just terminate at The High Schools/Xcite Hub. A big turning circle and plenty of place to rest.
Could turn left at Tally Ho, then turn right at Sainsbury’s and go past The Marina then left down to the Hub from there. That would cover most of Winchburgh and would be closer to a bus stop than Lothian Country give a lot of West Lothian. It could, but I feel like that would result in it missing half of Winchburgh out though? I’d suggest a small one way loop involving Shale Road, Main Street and back up Beatlie Road may be an option.
It refers to the pattern used on the "Harlequin" livery that was used for low-floor buses when they were first introduced. The livery was then phased out in favour of madder and white again once the whole fleet was low-floor.As an outsider what is/was 'Harlequin ' style destination screens
Alternatively you could scrap the 72 east of Livi and extend every second X19 over its current route to Livi - so Kirkliston keeps its direct Livi service, Kirkliston to Winchburgh is more efficient in reduced number of buses but no destinations lost, remaining 72 is much shorter so less delays. If people from Haymarket - Corstorphine - Ratho Station are happy sitting on a slow bus then they've got their direct service to Livi back again as well.
Unfortunately it doesn’t serve St John’s.Kirkliston already has a direct service to Livingston with Stagecoach X51 which is also a lot faster. I dare say the passengers voted with their feet for the more direct service.
There’s no way you can cut the Bathgate - Livingston via Craigshill section to half hourly, it’s far too busy. I’d even go as far as to say that, outside of the peaks, it’s busier than the Livingston to Edinburgh section. How busy are the X27/X28 north of Livingston Centre? And how busy is the 72 west of Livi Centre? And how busy are the X27/X28 east of Livi Centre?
If Livi - Sighthill - Edinburgh needs an increase you could increase X27 to every half an hour on the current route. X28 Armadale - Whitburn - Seafield - Livi Village - Livi Centre - Kirknewton - Edinburgh every hour would give Armadale their direct link to Livi and give Blackburn and Seafield a direct Edinburgh service again. X74 Whitburn - Fauldhouse - West Calder - Livi - Kirknewton - Edinburgh every hour, which would also give those towns a direct link again. 72 increase to every 30 minutes if needed but cut back to Eliburn. Drawbacks would be Livi - Craigshill - Bathgate goes down to every 30 minutes and loses its direct bus to Kirknewton. But Livi - Edinburgh increases slightly and the A71 and A705 corridors get back a direct Edinburgh service.

Have you posted the video anywhere?905 plus I presume 906 Have been given "harlequin" style Lothian destination screens - this is a nice nod to the past and it was nice to see someone take the time to implement this into their destination screens. I agree. They should leave the X27 and X28 as they are as they work. Any tinkering with them will only put off more passengers. There’s no way you can cut the Bathgate - Livingston via Craigshill section to half hourly, it’s far too busy. It was just a 10 second clip to get the frames of the dest, do you want it?Have you posted the video anywhere?
I'd say the Ex-Londons (1000-1032 & 1141-1153).What vehicle movements/withdrawals do we expect when 751-798 come on stream?
