I see on bus times that 212 is tracking again after it had its accident in the Cinderhill area in late January. I’m quite impressed it’s come back this quickly

Oops yes I definitely didI think you mean 252….

There are further yutongs due for the 53/54 and a host of spares. I’m sure one is meant to be allocated to the 30 as well so possible they will add another to the green batch toohttps://www.nctx.co.uk/11extension
With Rivendell having just joined the City bus network, it would appear that NCT will have further developments in September.
I do wonder what the vehicle allocation will be for the additional vehicle that requires.
I do wonder what this will do to Trentbarton's "the Cotgrave", currently every 20min but continuing into the evening unlike the extension of the 11.https://www.nctx.co.uk/11extension

Diesel deckers have been popping up on the 8 and 9, with two out on at least one day recently, so there may be some availability issues with the Yutongs. There are further yutongs due for the 53/54 and a host of spares. Isn't this basically the old Villager that ran through Cotgrave with an infrequent service in addition to the Cotgrave - i.e. used to live side by side with it.I do wonder what this will do to Trentbarton's "the Cotgrave", currently every 20min but continuing into the evening unlike the extension of the 11.

Essentially the NCT 11 extension is replacing the NCC 33 which currently runs and doesn't affect the main Trent Barton service so I assume it won't have any more impact than that does.I do wonder what this will do to Trentbarton's "the Cotgrave", currently every 20min but continuing into the evening unlike the extension of the 11.

If the plan is to use the E10s there's not exactly much capacity for passenger growth! Those are often full leaving the City already.
However it will provide a MUCH better service than the 33, which currently I don't think many people know exists, or use it given its lack of reliability, live tracking etc. NCT will actually advertise this and try to grow its customer base, unlike the council who couldn't really care less, they just want to run the serviceEssentially the NCT 11 extension is replacing the NCC 33 which currently runs and doesn't affect the main Trent Barton service so I assume it won't have any more impact than that does.
It's similar to the current 33 run by the council, just diverted onto the current 11 route at the Nottingham end. I doubt it'll take anyone from the Cotgrave unless they're catching another NCT bus.I do wonder what this will do to Trentbarton's "the Cotgrave", currently every 20min but continuing into the evening unlike the extension of the 11.
Wow that’s quite the extension. With this, and the amount of Solo SRs you still tend to see covering Yutong routes it seems like they’re gonna need to keep some of them. In fact last week the 9 was covered by a Uni 4 omnidekka and a silver E400 - something that used to happen with the E200 MMCs.https://www.nctx.co.uk/11extension

It certainly doesn’t look as though the yutongs are as reliable as would be expectedWow that’s quite the extension. Yeah, Trent Barton's 22 (Nottingham to Sutton-cum-Granby that has since become Rushcliffe Villager (V2) before being withdrawn in 2017.It's similar to the current 33 run by the council, just diverted onto the current 11 route at the Nottingham end. The 33 is of course the remnants of another former Trentbarton route.
The only way I could see this happening is with Nottinghamshire County Council support (which they’ve provided for the 11 extension and the Sky Blue extension to Calverton) . I can’t see NCT choosing to compete with Trent on these corridors when they don’t have the buses nor the garage space to spareIt's only a matter of time before NCT runs into Derbyshire of all places.
I mean, think about it, what if an Orange Line route ran into Long Eaton, Sandiacre or Ilkeston or even a Turquoise Line went into Nuthall, Kimberley or Eastwood?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The 11 is only being extended with council funding so I don't see that happening at allIt's only a matter of time before NCT runs into Derbyshire of all places.

Interestingly the planning application for the housing development on the (now former) Tollerton airfield proposed extensions of the 5/7/11 to serve it.Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The 11 is only being extended with council funding so I don't see that happening at all
In the last couple of weeks I've seen a Uni 4 Omnidekka and a debranded 48 E400 on the 60. I thought there must be a shortage of biogas or something, but then I saw one of the 60's buses on the 1!Wow that’s quite the extension. There was a period of 2 weeks in July where NCT were having work done on their biogas tanks and they announced changes to vehicle allocations. The sky blue biogas buses were ‘withdrawn’ temporarily (I.e sent to Trent bridge) with the 60 mostly covered by uni 4 omnidekkas and ex 48 E400s. These are some of what Trent Bridge uses to work peak extras such as the two 1515 1s from Roko Wilford Lane into town, the rush hour 48 double decker runs as well as covering for any other Trent Bridge vehicle shortages, so I think the sky blue gas buses did sneak out a couple of times. In the last couple of weeks I've seen a Uni 4 Omnidekka and a debranded 48 E400 on the 60. This could be interesting in terms of what is allocated and where for any bus nerds in nottingham
Bio-Gas Station Works
Yesterday Thu 10th Jul 2025
![]()
It’s eight years since we introduced our first bio-gas buses and refuelling station.
Like any other intensely used machinery, regular maintenance and servicing is essential to keep it working and our bio-gas buses fuelled up.
When we fuel the buses, the bio-gas they receive is compressed to maximise the distance the buses can operate each day.
From Monday 14th July 2025, for two weeks, the main compressors in the refuelling station will receive a thorough mid-life service. This will require one compressor to be switched off each week, which will reduce the number of buses we can re-fuel each evening.
To minimise the impact of these works, we will be temporarily:
It may be necessary during these compressor works to allocate a bus that is not the usual colour for your route or one of our generic silver spare buses, so please check the destination on the front of the bus.
- Switching Sky Blue 60 to operate with our Uni4 branded buses, which are not in use because of the university holidays
- Using our Uni34 branded buses on any Orange Line service
- Changing buses during the daytime on our Lilac, Red and Turquoise Lines to refuel them during the day, rather than in the evening – this may mean you will have to change to another bus outside our depot at Parliament Street or on Canal Street
Thank you for your understanding and apologies in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Phone keyboard wouldn’t let me get rid of the bold at the top. Sorry
NCT have run to Long Eaton in the past. I think it was the FastLine 500 in the late 80s or early 90s. I used to use it on my student EasyRider ticket to go and do some spotting at Toton. It's only a matter of time before NCT runs into Derbyshire of all places.

In the mid 90s they ran the Sunday service on the 310 Nottingham-Long Eaton-EMA-Loughborough (every 3 hours).NCT have run to Long Eaton in the past. I think it was the FastLine 500 in the late 80s or early 90s. I used to use it on my student EasyRider ticket to go and do some spotting at Toton.
The 4 also seeing a frequency decrease to every 10-15 minutes in term time which is surprisingSome service changes on NCT

Service Change from 14th September 2025
Cropwell Bishop, Cotgrave & Tollerton will join the City Bus Network, additional journeys to South Notts 1 and more!www.nctx.co.uk
To summarise notable changes outside of the extension of the 11:
1 has some changed morning and evening services alongside new ones
6 has a revised mon-sat timetable
29 is withdrawn
35/36 reduced to every 15 minutes on Saturday daytimes
53/54 has a revised mon-fri timetable
Burton Street and South Sherwood Street are right next to one another - does the 4 have a 15 minute layover scheduled while the N4 keeps moving? On the 4 going out of the city it is given 15 mins between the first 2 stops on the timetable. The N4 is given 1 minuite. That doesn't seem right.
Going on the fact that four of the existing Solos haven't seen service for over a month, is it really 14 replacing 18? It rather looks like 14 replacing 14 now...This has just appeared on the NCT enthusiasts page on Facebook.
Picture shows the registrations and details of the upcoming Yutong arrivals in the fleet.
The first two and the last one are E12's by chassis number so I assume should be 218-220 in order with 282-292 being the ones with B in the VIN. The question is are 218-20 LMX/Y/LNA or LNN/O/P? or are the regs in order but the VIN's in the wrong order?
As shown, this would mean 4 spare E12s and 13 spare E10s, whereas 6 E12s and 11 E10 seems about right for the number of branded ones.
Also worth noting that this is 14 electric buses to replace 18 diesels, however there are two less needed with the 29 finishing, but I assume the extension of the 11 will need an extra bus.
Might be a bit tight on spares!
