Sorry to hear this. Some of my friends haven’t been having a great time lately at Aston Court - the management seems in several ways to be rather a bit disorganised.

Probably double booked the rooms and sold the rooms for more than you paid so as the lesser amount paid you get booted out !

Has happened to me before in London

With huge thanks to our friends at Freightliner, we can now confirm the FL Class 70 will be 70004 on Shuttles 3 and 4 on Saturday. 70004 will work with 66556 as previously advised. This sought after Class 70 has only worked one passenger train before in 2013 so we are very grateful to Freightliner for providing this one.

We have been advised that it is expected Derby station will be exceptionally busy and a queuing system may be in place. Access to the station will only be permitted for ticket holders / special ticket holders. East Midlands Railway advises that you should allow extra time to navigate the station. As such, we advise all tickets for Branch Line Society special charter trains are purchased in advance on www.branchline.uk as pay on the day from Derby will not be available. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time so please be respectful to station staff and fellow passengers, and obey instructions given by staff and stewards.

East Midlands Railway reminds all photographers that flash photography is not permitted.

5Z62 1653 Derby Litchurch Lane to York N.R.M.

…is likely to be please? Says it’s operated by XC on RealTimeTrains, but that seems odd.

Is anyone keeping the attendees list kindly produced at the start of this thread going? It will be an awful lot easier to print off a list and tick locos off rather than write everything down on the day.

I have to say that list was / is very useful. Many thanks to the person who did it. I guess if the list was updated, it would show loco exhibits changed and those which might not make it.

I think 5Z62 was probably going to be Tornado getting ready for it's railtour, but the railtour wont be happening now.

This is only an outside guess, but if this is an XC movement it might be the ECS off / detachment off 1V62. This calls Derby 1626-1631

This smacks a bit of what happened with hotel bookings in Manchester when Oasis announced their reunion gigs - people who had booked hotels had them cancelled and refunded, then found the rooms available again on the website at massively inflated prices……

Well, limited in number and they supposedly cost £5. Then you will be in a specific fenced area at the south end of one of the platforms.

Think you got to get a platform ticket which goes to charity, ask at the station is the best bet.

I’m sure someone said from Friday to Sunday you can only get on the station with a valid ticket.
This is due to visitors for the GG.

Dunno what the cheapest ticket from Derby is though.

Surely they can’t stop you wandering the station if you have a Derbyshire Wayfarer for example, with it being valid on most (if not all) trains?

Reports from another forum are that anyone taking photos on the station is being moved to the designated area even if they have a valid ticket for travel, and that this is being policed diligently by a combination of EMR staff and private security.

There are automated announcements to this effect playing while trains are platformed.

Likewise 43060 is carrying the number 43200 in addition to the 200 branding.

730201 is already at LL somewhere so should be unit on display.

Both 93003 + 93009 are on display. Just 99001 made the trip. No 99002.
