Hopefully you'll find out first hand that railway recruitment requires patience of a saint! Some bits go super quick, others bits can take months!
I know ha! I applied Friday then got the email for assessment that evening like everyone else. I defo need some patience.

You need to back yourself. Already saying you don’t hold much hope isn’t the skills relevant for a train driver.

What on earth are you on about?
Don't worry, if you do get further it will give you more self confidence. The actual driving hours part of training is as much about building confidence than raw ability.

You will get plenty of support on here, as will anyone who needs it.

Well a couple of your comments are “I’m not holding out hope” etc this is probably the easiest part to becoming a driver. The application and first test. It’s gets a lot tougher. And if you think you’ll fail now then expect it to get harder.

Hi, I applied for the trainee train driver for Newcastle on the 25th, After the initial ai questions I waited to see if I was moving onto the next stage, on the 27th I received an email asking to complete the error checking test, this came through on e mail at around 6 pm and stated you had 48hrs from initial application to this point if you worked it out would of been passed.. anyway I saw the e mail at half 11 that night so quickly logged in and started the test with no prior clue what to expect, anyway I managed ok on the test I believe I was very accurate but the time flew! I recon I mite of done 25 or 27 questions..
regardless I was concerned about the 48 hr period so emailed tpe recruitment afterwards ( kick myself if I had longer to do it as to prep more) but suppose it’s a good indication jumping straight in of how suited you are. anyway I revived an e mail on Sunday morning telling me my test was completed ok and I was moving to hiring manager sifting.. guess I’ll just have to wait and see, question when sifting I’m guessing the look into your ai interview and error checking test before making a decision against other candidates ?

Pretty sure most received the “hiring manager for review” but that doesn’t mean you passed the test.

Pretty sure Hiring Manager email goes to those who have passed. Especially as we're now seeing rejection emails too

I got the unsuccessful email
I have also received the ‘application unsuccessful’ email.
I genuinely wish the very best of luck to everyone moving forward, either with this application or with your next!
I feel some may need it more that other; overconfidence can cost lives and belittling your fellow man is often seen as an undesirable trait (at least outside of politics anyway.)

What’s the next stage then? OPC assessments? In person or online?
Should you be shortlisted then next stage would be paper psychometrics

Just done the accuracy test, I found it easy and actually enjoyable even with mild dyslexia, i'd of liked more time to do them all, probably did around 20 answers. I did it on a Macbook without any issues at all. Also had the automated email straightaway afterwards. Good luck to everyone on this great forum. :D

Did mine earlier today as was away over weekend on wales and didn't trust the signal to do it there! I thought the same with my dyslexic brain haha! think I did about the same around 25-30, got the automated email saying its with the hire managers.
Did it on a small laptop no issues apart from having to scroll to click the boxes reckon if I could've seen the check boxes and the question Id have easily answered more

To those who've unfortunately received an unsuccessful email, don't let it get you down. Unlike the next stage, you can keep applying and trying. I've previously failed at early stages and I've passed physometric testing twice.

I'm just ****e at interviews lol

Can I ask which email you used to reach out to them? I completed the Error Checking on Sunday after receiving the invitation on Friday. I completed approx 28 questions and am confident they were correct (aren't we all!?). There's people posting here who only answered 20 and got the hiring manager email and assuming I'm not way off with my answers I would have thought I was in the successful group at this stage.

Just not go to that candidate yet. Often done in groups, sometimes by depot.

When did you get the invite to do the online test?
Hi, I got the email Friday, completed Sunday. It only seems strange because theres people posting here today that they did the test this morning and got the email straightaway. I'll keep being patient and refreshing my emails every ten seconds!

Side question, in my tpe account, the assessments are showing as '2' Completed, but the results for the Sapia AI questionnaire are showing as "Assessment Results Not Received Yet". Is that the same for anyone else?

Both show “completed” on my assessments page.

I used the email address on the bottom of the tpe recruitment email
For any queries, please email us at tpe.recruitment@tpexpress.co.uk
An email was then received from “uk-tpe recruitment” stating my application had been passed to hiring manager sorting.. no automated e mail
And
Both show complete on my dashboard
