Not too sure, first time ever going through any train driver application.. but seeing as there was a different deadline set for @louie333 I think it’s safe to assume no news isn’t bad news. Just be sure to keep the 30th afternoon free incase you get the email confirmation
I am going abroad. I’m coming back on 30th June

I take it no one else heard from OPC yet in regards to VSE results?

I heard it takes a while to process the VSE results as they're manually checked and verified so basically it's a case of you'll hear when you hear

Received an email saying I won’t be progressed to the next stage . Suprised actually as I didn’t get one wrong on A and only one on B. Felt confident but perhaps i was mistaken …a real shame

I’ve received the same reply but I had a feeling that I’ve messed it up. Does this mean we can’t apply for any TOC for next 6 months ?

You can still apply for other TOCs like GWR or Greater Anglia as they have different online assessments but cannot apply for TOCs with VSE which is enhanced like the one you just undertook.

Thanks replying. Have you applied for this job or you waiting for start date with other depot?

Got a reply today at 15:36 that I passed the VSE and have been invited to an assessment day on 09/07/2025

The final date to complete my VSE was yesterday so guess people hear after their date so fingers crossed for anyone waiting to hear back

Congratulations on passing! They told me there’s only 1 date for the stage 1 assessment due to time restrictions and now I’m finding out that was a lie - that’s very annoying. I received confirmation of passing but my assessment day was 30th. I had a holiday booked for the previous day but I had to cancel my flight and book a later one - spending an extra £200. Now I’m hearing that there are additional days for the assessment centre when they told me there wasn’t.. what kind of bs is this?

I’m guessing they have blocks of dates for the assessments and have a certain amount of numbers for each date and can’t move anyone to another date ? My email also said stage two have multiple dates starting 6 days after my stage 1 assessment so hopefully you will be back for holiday if you go to stage 2. It will be worth it if you get the job

100% will be worth it that’s why I shuffled my holiday to make sure I’m available haha - it is what it is though, sacrifice is needed and I’m happy to do so. I’m back before the 10th anyways so all good! Good luck with your assessment brother !

Just got info I’ve passed all OPC screening assessments at Enhanced standard for Overground.
Does anyone have any key info about Willesden Junction depot, for example routes drivers undertake and traction? And other important info?

Watford to Euston
Gospel Oak to Barking
Stratford to Richmond/clapham Junction

You drive both the aventra 710’s and the older 378’s and will most likely be trained to drive 378’s within the depot as maintenance staff only drive the 710’s

Point of order , unless something has changed then Willesden drivers don't drive Watford to Euston except for one tiny link.

As Baz962 states you won't sign the DC (Lioness). Willesden TMD you'll sign NLL (Mildmay) & GOBs (Suffragette) with both 378s and 710s as well as ECS Wembley C-Sidings all off the bat now. You'll also shunt 378s on the TMD. Course is just over 9 months. You'll have a choice of 3 links probably when you pass out all dependent on vacant lines with 10day long weekends every 8 weeks.

I got an email saying I've passed all OPC assessments. Waiting next stage. Anyone know when the courses are likely to be? I'm still in the "talent pool" for NXG so hoping I won't have to do the interview again

I’m in the same position for the New Cross gate talent pool. But I think we may have to re do the DMI.

To have the new cohort passed out by the May 26 timetable change you're probably looking around September start date. You will most likely have to do the DMI again.
