I've just come across this video on youtube which suggests Greater Anglia will be accepting trainee driver applications from tomorrow, 2 May 2025. Nothing in writing on the TOC's own website yet.

I'm in the pot for Cambridge!
How do these vacancies work for people under 21? A director suggested applying before turning 21 as training and testing can be done prior, but the actual form doesn't allow you to proceed if the written age is not old enough. Does anyone know any more about this?

I believe 20 and 9 months is the earliest you can apply. Any younger doesn’t really make sense. But I suppose if it asks for 21 you have to be 21, No way around it unfortunately

If Greater Anglia closes your application and says “reapply when we reopen them on Friday”, that’s usually an exception to the rule. I believe they do that on an annual basis, from what I’ve read on here!
When I last applied. An e-mail did say the application will only be open for 6 months, unlike the previous that lasted a year or so. In previous applications, the E-mail to say the position will shortly close, they state if you're still interested, to reapply to the new advert.
Did you fail an assessment? Why not, good luck. I've applied for mainline Norwich.

Does anyone know if it's worth applying for both of the Liverpool Street branches? The only thing is you have to fill out the whole form again- it's not autofilled.
Can anyone please explain to me the gap in wages between some of the depots? Particularly, the fact that both of the Liverpool St salaries vary by over £1,000 despite them both being mainline positions...? I just wasn't entirely sure why.

I believe this is because they were originally two depots (West Anglia and GE) which have since merged (somewhat) but T&Cs were never harmonised.
Thank you. When you fill out the online application form, it asks you to select your closest depot and doesn't differentiate between the Liverpool St branches so I'm thinking applying again for the second LS depot could be wasting everyone's time? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. xx
Not all of my applications are stored but the last one was. I downloaded the pdf and basically copied then updated and improved it. it was depot cause I missed the mainline the previous time but I didn't this time, thankfully.

This is correct. It’s a difference in T&Cs. I’m afraid I don’t know what the specific differences are, otherwise I’d list them. Sorry all!

Probably, but I wouldn't put it past the recruitment system to not be that smart! Personally I would pick a different location.
Don't know for sure but likely: Training rate, First year driving, second year, third year.

I would say go for both, feel free to select LivAt as closest depot each time (if indeed it is your closest). I don’t think you’ll be considered for the other if you don’t apply for both.
I may also be wrong, but I applied for both This way.
Definitely apply for both, it seems that they don't consider you for any roles that you haven't applied for through the proper channels. It's the same location but a different depot still, so you should be eligible for both.

I had the same, I think they've took applications down early as the mainline ones are now gone, so you can't continue a partial application.

It’s always recommended that you complete an application ASAP as, especially with London TOCs, they attract a large number of applications and do invariably close early. I’m surprised they lasted this long to be honest, though we did have a Bank Holiday day yesterday.

They've been advertised all over Facebook. I've seen about three news pages such as Essex live saying that theres driver jobs going. Glad I got in there quickly, but I my application will probably drown in the pool of applicants email most tend to get!
