I pinged an email the other day to follow up on things, and they said that more MiniSCAAT invites would be sent in a few weeks, for those who haven't heard anything yet following application.

You did it on Tuesday and you’ve had an email already?
Wednesday but yeah, not too surprised by that as the guys on this thread who are on the DMI/getting offers seemed to find out within a couple of days about their stage 1.
I was surprised when I got it at ten to nine though, I’d assumed at that point I’d find out next week, but guess the office staff also work odd hours.

Anyone else starting the trainee train driver course with Thameslink/GTR on the 28th of April? Would be great to connect before we begin the training — share tips, expectations, and maybe calm a few nerves! Looking forward to meeting others on the same journey.

Completed my Stage 2 this week.
We did the WAFV, ATAVT, 2HAND back to back, took about an hour all told. WAFV was straightforward, I don't think I missed a black square but I did press it twice on a grey accidentally. ATAVT was the one I was worried about it but found it easier than he ones I did online. Everybody afterwards thought they had failed the 2HAND but my advice would be when you make mistakes, and you will several times, don't panic and just keep your focus. Only one guy of our group failed on the computer tests and that was on the WAFV.
We then got given a SJE and the pre-interview form before our MMI. My advice on that would be don't over prepare as they will ask a lot of questions and may ask you to provide a different example if they don't like your one, so you need to think on your feet. Took over an hour and I felt it went ok but was really hard to tell but just got an email to say I passed, so on to the DMI!

Where is the course taking place?
I’m so worried about the 2Hand! Have you got any advice on how I could practice?
Also was it just the one track/shape you were doing over again or did the track keep changing? X
I’m not sure there is a way to practice to be honest. I think if you’re somebody who has never regularly played video games on a controller or not for a very long you might find doing that beneficial but honestly if you’re comfortable using a controller I don’t think you’ll get much out of doing that more as it’s more cumbersome and sensitive than most games.
It’s the same track, ten times, which they tell you before you start so I’m not giving away any secrets here. I only got through two runs without a single mistake, and nobody else in our group even did that and we all passed despite some being certain that they’d flunked it.
Try to remember they’re sifting out people with below average hand eye coordination not trying to find somebody with the dexterity of a neurosurgeon. I think most likely way people are to fail is they panic from making mistakes and therefore spiral into making a lot more or overreact the other way and just do it far too slowly.

Someone failed in my session cos they did it too slow. It’s a blend of accuracy but also speed!

Thanks. I've got my DMI there on the 6th.
DMI Passed! Much less intense than the MMI and more like a normal job interview. Just have in mind the qualities a train driver should have and give examples of you demonstrating those accordingly.
Start date for Great Northern (they offered me that at Hornsey or thameslink with cricklewood and the fromer is closer to where I live) June 16th.

Sorry to bother you! I’ve had an email asking to book in for the assessment centre. It’s a 4 hour time block. Do you think that will be just stage 1, it’s hasn’t said anything about being in two stages?

First of all, congratulations to everyone who has successfully passed their recent assessment stages – that's a huge achievement and definitely encouraging to see!
I have my assessment scheduled for the 9th, and I’ve been going through the practice materials and sample questions in preparation. I was just wondering if anyone who has already been through the process could share some advice or insights. Specifically:
-Did you find the practice questions to be a good reflection of the real assessment?
-Were there any parts of the assessment you found particularly challenging or unexpected?
-Any tips or recommendations on how best to prepare in the final few days?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I try to prepare as thoroughly as possible.

Search for all the tests in the forum and read through, it will help you.
Just had my assessment day today, was chilled, but I have a feeling, one of the test was explained not very well. I only blame myself, ‘cos i did not clarified the details. So if your assessment day ahead, make sure you have no doubt about the next test, good luck everyone!
