WGA <> ECR Weekly Season Ticket has two options, am I doing it right?

Morning all...my commute to the office is a simple one change effort, Westgate-on-Sea through to London Bridge or London Victoria and a switch onto a service back out to East Croydon. I had a couple of months not travelling due to personal reasons, and having just started again I've spotted that my options have changed - having previously purchased a ticket that covered WGA <> London Travelcard Zones 1-6 that's no longer an option, with a WGA <> East Croydon or West Croydon (NOT HS1 NOT UND) as a replacement.

However, a new option has entered my search results, WGA > London Travelcard Zones 5-6 which is 25%ish cheaper...am I right in assuming that this isn't something I could take advantage of with my usual London Bridge/Victoria switch and would instead require a change onto local services at a station such as Bromley South to get round to East Croydon? It'd be handy if I could save myself a bit of cash, but these things are never that simple and I definitely don't want to fall foul of fare policy!

I can't see the image you've attached, so I'm not sure which site you are using to search for season tickets.

WGA <> Zones 1-6 is still an option for your season ticket. Enter London Travelcard Zones 1-6 as the destination and it should appear; it costs £193 a week since the fares increase on 2 March.

WGA <> East or West Croydon route "not HS1 not Und" is also an option but it is completely pointless and shouldn't really exist, as it's more expensive than WGA <> Zones 1-6 whilst providing less validity (it isn't valid on the bus, nor on the Tube or other National Rail services in Zones 1-6).

WGA <> Zones 5-6 (£144.90 a week) would require you to change somewhere like Bromley South and to take a bus (for at least part of the journey), since there isn't a rail route from WGA to East Croydon that remains inside Zones 5 and 6. It's not a bad journey as things go - the Superloop bus on route SL5 runs roughly every 12 mins at peak times, and takes you directly between Bromley South and East Croydon stations taking ~25 mins. NB: Travelcards are valid on all TfL bus routes, regardless of which Zones your Travelcard covers.

If you want to avoid the bus you'd also need a ticket covering Zone 4, e.g. WGA <> Zones 4-6, travelling via somewhere like Bromley South, Beckenham Junction and the tram to Croydon. This would cost you £158.90 a week.

....and probably be no faster, depending on connections. The SL5 has made a significant difference (or it seems so to those of us who are used to the 119 route!).

There is a route which avoids zones 1-4 as well as avoiding the buses, but it's slow. nre.co.uk doesn't give routes for season tickets, but it will offer day travelcards from Westgate with a route via Strood, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and Redhill.
