Is Hawker Siddley the name of the operator?
Good luck with that!Is Hawker Siddley the name of the operator?
Actually just Googled them! Apologies!Good luck with that!![]()
Well, I can’t have everything.Sorry, but the front just doesn't look right without a 4-character headcode panel.
It may work,I’d go along with that just for the novelty factor.Whiskers? Did someone say DP1 DELTIC for the next slass 69 "heritage" livery?![]()

Now there's a thought... yes please! (provided it has the proper bodyside lining and full set of whiskers on each nose).Whiskers? Did someone say DP1 DELTIC for the next class 69 "heritage" livery?![]()

as per your googling, they’re not an operator, but they were the parent company of Brush Traction and Brush Electrical Machines when the Class 56s were being constructed. Is Hawker Siddley the name of the operator?
Thanks. I didn't know that at the time i wrote the original post. I've lived in Ireland for years and not au fait with British Railways anymore.as per your googling, they’re not an operator, but they were the parent company of Brush Traction and Brush Electrical Machines when the Class 56s were being constructed.
Thats a photoshop of 69004.
That’s the best photoshop I’ll ever see.

Oh yeah, just realised myself, the Hawker Siddeley logo looks like computer text now I look at it. Fooled me though! That’s the best photoshop I’ll ever see.
Not sure what you mean? The font on the 69, looks spot on.Oh yeah, just realised myself, the Hawker Siddeley logo looks like computer text now I look at it. Fooled me though!
The photoshop has evidently been very neatly done, but the text looks a tiny bit pixelated, and the number 69014 is not rotated to fit the body side - therefore it looks AI generated. Not sure what you mean? The font on the 69, looks spot on.
Here's the original font on HS4000 Kestrel (both of the linked photos will enlarge to good size when clicked on)

The Brush / Hawker Syddeley HS4000 'Kestrel'
I thought it would be a good idea to follow the previous posting, featuring Heljans OO gauge model of the Brush / Hawker Syddeley desig...lakelandrailway.blogspot.com
Darn these digi-renders are good! The photoshop has evidently been very neatly done, but the text looks a tiny bit pixelated, and the number 69014 is not rotated to fit the body side - therefore it looks AI generated.

Wow thats an impressive edit, had me fooled (and I'm usually quite good at spotting this kind of thing)...and this is the one up-thread:
Good sleuthing.I think this is the original 69004 photo:

Nope. It is definitely a photoshop - the real 69014 will stand up / be revealed next week. This is where everyone gets convinced it is fake. Then an Arlington post appears.
What have American liveries got to do with 69s ?Failing that, one in the D&RGW "pinstripe" colours or in SP's "black widow" scheme.

I was thinking the same thing last night. The big question: original, or red stripe?Original Railfreight livery would be fantastic IMO.
Ultimately some will always disagree, but I would go with original. The red stripe looked good on 20s and 58s but I wasn’t a fan on 56s.I was thinking the same thing last night. The big question: original, or red stripe?![]()
Someone has found a shot of 69004 in exactly the same place as are the clouds. Excellent photo shop thoughNope. It is definitely a photoshop - the real 69014 will stand up / be revealed next week.
Well let’s hope the fakery above has given some inspiration to those that weald the paint brush. Even if it’s on the next one.69014 is out on Thursday!
When 56135 appeared on the front cover of Rail Enthusiast, I was initially taken aback. I was a big fan of large logo (56133 "Crewe Locomotive Works" was not long out; it looked superb)Ultimately some will always disagree, but I would go with original.
