Evening all,

I'm looking through old notebooks and I have a couple queries that you guys could possibly help with (I hope so).

Query 1
July 1987 I went from Euston to Watford Junction.
It was not on the DC lines.
Departure was about 15:30.
The entry I have does look like 310088 - Does that sound right?
Anyone have the Headcode and time from Euston?
What was the final destination?

Query 2
Also same month and year, I travelled from Shenfield to Liverpool Street.
Departure time was about 19:00ish (I think about quarter past)
I think from the notes the number was 615 but the class was a bit smudged (was raining that evening) but I think it could be 309.
So could questions on this one.
Was it likely 309?
Anyone have the Headcode and time from Shenfield?
What was the origin?

Thanks in advance

July 1987:

2A53 15:22 Euston-Milton Keynes, called at Harrow 15:35, Watford 15:43
14:52/15:52 before/after
Will have been AM10/class 310, yes

PS you never say, so I have assumed Monday-Friday!

From the October timetable: (I don’t have July)
2N19 18:08 Clacton-Liverpool Street, Shenfield 19:24, Ilford 19:36, Liverpool Street 19:51 most likely to be AM9/class 309. Timed “AT” meaning 309 or 312.
EG https://www.railwayherald.com/imagingcentre/view/342363/MT
18:49 was the preceding “AT” up departure from Shenfield, so too early I think.

Q1. Likely candidates are 15:22 Euston - Milton Keynes,
or 15:52 Euston - Milton Keynes Central(SX) or Birmingham New St (SO).

Q2.Was it midweek or Saturday - the times differ.
Also assuming it was one of the "fast" services, not the all stations services.

Monday-Friday: Could be 18:10 Clacton - Liverpool Street; Shenfield dep. 19:24.
Unit could be 309.615, one of the "Clacton" units based on Mark 1 stock.

Previous departures were 17:33 from Clacton (Shenfield 18:50), or
18:31 from Witham (Shenfield 18:55)

Saturday: 18:15 from Ipswich (Shenfield 19:15), or
17:40 from Clacton (Shenfield 18:45); 18:24 from Witham (Shenfield 18:52)
