We were on an Avanti from Milton Keynes to Euston this morning, the late running 9:27 service.

Sorry I don't know what type of carriage it was but it looked to be fairly new.

My question relates to the lights above the window which show reservations - they kept cycling between no colour, red, green and blue throughout the journey - we started calling them the disco lights after they'd cycled a few times :)

I'm assuming red means reserved and green means the seat is vacant but what does blue mean?

Thanks

Wales (sometimes in England), thanks for replying!

Realtime Trains says that this service (yours) was operated with 807004, so a Class 807 unit.

It sounds like the system was (for whatever reason) in a test mode and the LEDs are RGB (red/green/blue) LEDs so display those three colours as part of the test, even though they can display more colours through combinations.

I believe that when the system is actually working in use, red is reserved now, yellow is reserved for part of the journey and green is vacant / not reserved.

Yeah that would be test mode, it can only be turned off on a maintenance login on the TMS, a phone call from the TM to Hitachi would have sorted this
