Thank you for that - I found the whole "orange viz" requirement so amusing that I've signed up - I also think I'll be doing my bit given it's a load test by weighing twice as much as a standard passenger.
I wondered whether they might have hi-vis to lend, as for example LT Museum do for their Hidden London tours. But then I decided it would be all too much hassle. I will have a ride when (and if) regular passenger services withn this train start.
Quite why one is needed for the punters on a railtour where they board at a platform and leave the train at a platform is anyone’s guess, though.

yes - There is a stall in every market i have been to selling work gear.
. But I will do my best to actually be there.When the unit runs out of charge on the second trip you will be expected to descend to the track level and push the train back to Ealing. The test is to see whether the unit can charge its batteries through regen whilst being pushed by a train load of enthusiasts.
Ha ha. the train in 2024 set a record, although a risk, a very low risk on running out of battery!
Cant help but feel this is like the useless WTLP range for EVs (possibly even worse!). What is its range with the heating on and the doors opening and closing in passenger seervice?
I expect they have been testing this over the winter with test loads, the line is 3.5 miles so should be able to do several runs before a full 10 minute fast charge is needed.
I guess the hi-viz requirement is to distinguish the railtour passengers from any normal passengers who happen to be around at the time?
